Jakepeng99
This issue has been messing me up for ages, but its been the last straw. During dusk or night, i can barely see anything at all. Not even nightmares... not even the dark parts of the ocean... so sailing is a nightmare. I keep running into the walls, or getting hurt by nightmares i cant see. It always happens on darker turf like forest turf the worse. It probably hurts my eyes too.. I checked DST settings, nothing for brightness. I checked my pc settings, nothing for brightness (somehow?). Any fixes? ButterStuffed
A lot of monitors have buttons on the side/behind for adjusting brightness. Have you looked at that? I did that, put it to max, made sure to dust the screen, though still have major issues with seeing things. gaymime
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2803841740 maybe this? it changes the shaders(colour cubes) the game uses. if the problem is your colour perception then picking a shade that is easier for your eyes to see will mean you wont struggle as much to distinguish things from each other Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157453-how-to-increase-brightness-please/#findComment-1728558 Share on other sites

Maybe its a problem with my eyes or pc? well if it is your pc i would say do a monitor check buuuut i just got a new laptop and i guess that isn't really an option anymore? at the very least the two most computer-savvy people i know couldnt help me figure it out so i dunno if the colourcubes help though i would suggest getting an eye exam. you might have colour-sensitivity problems or a colour-blindness issue. i know i have less sensitivity to yellows and reds give me a headache because i am too sensitive to them so blueing everything helps tremendously Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157453-how-to-increase-brightness-please/#findComment-1728570 Share on other sites

Are these things tested at regular eye check ups, or do you need to ask to do it? I remember them doing these circles with colours in the background in the normal checkups so i dont think it is a specific thing you need to ask for. GetNerfedOn
You can try going to Windows Settings and increasing your gamma setting. I'll have to describe the process in detail later (busy) but even just a minor adjustment to gamma made a world of a difference for me Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157453-how-to-increase-brightness-please/#findComment-1728628 Share on other sites
GetNerfedOn
Alright I'm back So! Here's the process, if you're on Windows 11: 1. Search Display settings in Windows 2. Scroll down and click on Advanced Display Settings 3. Click on "Display adapter properties for Display 1" 4. Go to Color Management 5. Go to the Advanced tab, and click Calibrate Display 5. You may default on all the other settings, but when your reach the prompt to adjust your Gamma setting set it a little higher than default, like so: Your mileage may vary and you may have to take several recalibrations to get to the optimal brightness level that you want. I hope this helps! @Jakepeng99 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157453-how-to-increase-brightness-please/#findComment-1728743 Share on other sites
