Frosty_Mentos
Pigs are mid, but at least they do work. Bunnymen are strong fighters, but they come back to fights too early to just die in one swoop. There's no cheap enough armory to keep them slightly protected and making football helms seems unreasonable. We could have wood armor and some sort of helmets to be worn by them just to keep them somewhat protected which I think would do better since they take 2x more damage than players. Pigs themselves should be thought to do more labor around camps, farms and generally having ways to improve their living standards along side ours. I think they are most intelligent creatures in the Constant that could be improved and trained if we were to be allowed to do that on them. Immersion would grow greatly if follower Ai would be more active along side you in work and jobs that they could be put to work for us. Rock miners, lumberjacks, archeologists/fossil miners, farmers... They could have their little roles and we pay in food or tools or house upgrades even. Gotheran
Counter point, the followers are mostly well adjusted and meant to serve as cannon fodder for fights you'd rather not get into yourself, the reason they struggle is due to the multiplayer focused balancing especially of boss mobs like queen bee having ludicrous health pools and dealing pretty severe damage especially too non player entities. While a whole pigman colony sim would be neat that definitely sounds like mod territory and not something that ought to be the focus of a player driven survival experience. Nonsense, even for very cheap weak options it would do good. Any little buff towards equipping your followers would do good. If characters can solo things now I feel like followers should be the alternative or addition to fare better in fights. They blow up too quick. Materials for Football Helms and Brightshade Helms are well worth the short term cost as they eventually pile up and roughly turn 1 Bunnyman into 4 when looking at unassisted total damage output against things that don't completely disable them. Long term you could build enough hutches for them to go without armor because they heal and respawn at no additional cost or maintain gear for a few to save on space.
