after i saw the The Winona catapult debate can be solved by finally removing the celestial portal i thought why not put a poll for it

I disagree I think this is batter because not all players went the portal to be Removed or stay , some players think its should be nerf  , and some have other opinion on the topic , a  i think a yes and no poll make no sense for that (:

its a multiplayer game, some people might have multiple accounts, might not even need to buy multiple accounts on steam if family share is enabled, then well on consoles you just dont either way, if people are willing to temporarily change to someone, they'd be willing to log into the world on a dif account. removing it only effects solo worlds, where they could choose to just not use it

Just don't use the thing if it bothers you.... no one is forcing you to switch characters. How is this even a discussion? What's next? Jelly beans are OP? Using wrapping paper on hambats is cheating? Wigfried Exists?

Ah yes the celestial portal post that gets made after why maxwell should not read wickers books post. No its fine the way it is, no one is forcing anyone at blunderbuss point to say “argh you have to use the portal nowie” if you want to stick with one character then do so. I like swapping so i can use other characters crafts for building and making themed sets.

You know it’s funny that you say “if you don’t like it don’t use it” Meanwhile I’ve played games like Smite and Overwatch where if people don’t want you to use a certain character, they can out right ban you from even being able to choose them as an option.

That would be GREAT if DST allowed me to host worlds with more control over how the world actually functions AKA- I can make it so Wilderness Mode is now Character Elimination Based and if you die as Wendy you can’t pick Wendy again, and when you run out of pickable characters, GG you lose game over.

But DST doesn’t give me that level of control over what people who join my world does in my world, and what am I going to do??? Ban everyone I see trying to upgrade the florid Postern to the Celestial Portal? Haha I don’t think so..

I’d rather just have a “Hardcore Mode” where using it is toggled off and can’t be toggled on under this mode.

YES I want to control how YOU play your game when you join MY WORLD.

Is that a crime Nowdays???

This kinda goes beyond a "nerf", it's a fundamental gameplay mechanic used by many people that would completely alter and remove playstyles from people if it was taken away or somehow gated (lol) behind some arbitrary endgame or midgame goal post.

You have options to control who can join your server, you can make rules and enforce them. You're trying to take options away from the entire population of a game because of your niche game mode you're looking for. Just make a mod that changes the recipe for the kit so it's not craftable and enforce that mod on the server, problem solved and now the rest of the population doesn't have to suffer because of your weird hangup over character changing.

I can help you modify either of those so it completely disables characters swapping if you like.

When PlayStation, Xbox & Nintendo switch can get mods.. sure I’ll use a mod, mods are always the answer right? A game can’t get more customization options surely. Nope gotta be mods.

Meanwhile… I can currently actually go into the game settings right now and I can remove the option for the terrarium to spawn in the world at all, I can Remove Deerclops, Bearger, Bee Queen, Dragonfly, Shadow Creatures, I can Remove the option for caves to spawn into the world, Enable summer 24/7 and increase wildfire frequency to lots more often.

But Nope, yeah I’ll download a mod on my Xbox instead.

 beyond a nerf ??? so making the portal cost more or making it a midgame or late game mechanic is not allowed ? and saying we can't ask for that because ( many people use it ) ! so if an item that many people use it is op or weak we can't say anything ???
