Isn't it usually 2^16-1? I remember usually seeing 2^16-1 as the cap for those things, though I'm honestly not sure why. I guess it's because 0 is often a potential number, so you need to take 1 away from the cap? And in DST you can't have 0 days, so you can last up to 2^16 days instead of 2^16-1 days?
