Would you pay for a *higher than elegant* tier skin for Maxwell and Winona that makes them Charlie and Wagstaff respectively?

I beg you all to download and play  game called Soul Knight, each playable character has like 15 to 20 different skins, and yes some of them are even Gender Swapped male to female or vice Versa, However as I pointed out in my previous post…

Klei would need to add unique idle animations and character quotes etc for these alternate skins, and by the time they did all that… they may as well had been their own unique character.

Wagstaff as Winona for example just would not work cause Nona is missing quite a few of the things that make Wagstaff well uhh Wagstaff, the most noteable missing part of the gameplay would be his bad visibility without needing to craft glasses to see with etc.

In a game like Soul Knight which is a RogueLite looter shooter, the “skins” the characters have do not change their weapons or abilities, they simply change the Animations of them.

For example there’s a character Called the “Costume Prince” who is a male that wears a Frog Costume, his abilities involve being able to transform into a giant blob and then sprout out Mini Blobs, his weapon is water spray gun that fires streams or splats of water, However if you want to pay 4.99$ You can buy a skin for this character that turns him into “We Happy Lady”

Which gender swaps him into a female, and instead of wearing a frog outfit, She is wearing a Wendy’s Waitress outfit, and instead of transforming into a giant blob, she transforms into seeing herself riding on a mutant hamburger, her “little slimes” are reskinned to look like Meatwad from the Tv show Aquateen Hungerforce, And the “Water Gun” has been Reskinned to look like Ketchup & Mustard bottles.

It’s the same character, that does the exact same thing gameplay wise, just a bunch of the animations were changed to look like something Different.

This would NOT work in DST because even if Wilson got a Gender Swapped skin to look like Walani chick still be randomly growing a Beard.

And if Wurts Upcoming rework gives her the ability to swim, sure a Walani surfing skin animation is possible, but what about all the OTHER Wurt bloat? Like being able to create Merm Armies & only eating veggies?

My conclusion is that character skins won’t ever work in DST, because the characters skills and pros/cons are too bloated.

Wortox reskinned into Wheeler sounds possible I mean his short distance teleport functions identical to wheelers dodge on Xbox controller, however… Wheeler then now gathers souls, heals players with souls and can teleport long distances.

I suppose that unreleased Witch character as a skin would work exceptionally well here… but NOT Wheeler.

Winona will never BE Wagstaff, he needs his blindness to be Wagstaff…

Charlie on the other hand, has never been playable, so of course the closest relatable comparison for her would be Maxwell.

As much as I like a change of character and aesthetics - I'd rather have a whole character sold to me instead of a skin making them look like someone else entirely.

I WOULD buy a higher tier skin if it had cool particles to spells or certain abilities, or be part of that skin's set of skins you get with it.

IF Klei can make it exciting and fun of a skin and concept of it into the game I think money to support would be well spent as long as it can bring that satisfaction in higher tier of the skin.
