So when the Curse Of The Moon Quay came out. I felt sad that Wonkey was introduced as an odd transformation. I knew he can be better. I also felt sad that Powder Monkeys were just enemies. I felt like they could be better as well. So here, I made this!

 

Here are the Rework Ideas,

 

1. Wonkey should now be an unlockable character .you have to unlock him by transforming into him. Accursed Trinket trinkets won't automatically fall into his inventory. Wonkey can still pick Up Accursed Trinket, resulting in a small sanity boost. For every trinket Wonkey collects, it will higher the sanity boost he gains. Wonkey will start with a Cutless, Bandana and 2 Banana Bushes.

 

2. Wonkey should have the ability to befriend Powder Monkeys and Splumonkeys by giving them bananas or banana dishes. Befriended Powder monkeys will toss items to To Wonkey, help paddle his boat in his direction and fight for him. Befriended Splumonkeys will toss items and fight for him. Both Splumonkeys and Powder Monkeys will follow him up the caves. 

 

3.Powder monkeys Will not toss equipped cutlesses or hats to him.

 

4. Wonkey can't befriend Powder Monkeys on boats due to being controlled by another monkey, the Prime Mate.

 

5.Befriended Powder monkeys will also harvest grass, saplings and more.

 

6. Monkey Queen Cannot help Transformed Wonkey players without trinkets.

 

 

 

7. Wonkey should be able to craft monkey huts using 3 bananas , 4 boards and 6 rocks with a science machine.

 

8. Powder monkeys away from Moon Quay Island won't give bananas to their queen.

 

9. Powder monkeys will fertilize any Banana bush or Monkeytail on sight.

 

10. Monkey Huts will drop half the resources that are used to craft it.

 

11.Wonkey can hammer Monkey Huts without getting attacked.

 

12. Splumonkeys will not harass Wonkey or attack him on shadow mode. Similar to the way they treat Themselves.

 

13. Wonkey can't befriend shadow Splumonkeys. Follower Splumonkeys turned into shadows will drop their loyalty.

 

14. Splumonkeys Will now shoot manure at other Mobs far away.

 

15. Splumonkeys will bite players when they come close or when the Splumonkeys run out of manure.

 

16. Follower Splumonkeys And Powder Monkeys Will not harass anyone.

 

17. Shadow Splumonkeys won't attack Powder Monkeys.

 

18. Splumonkey manure now deals 10 damage when thrown.

 

19. Wonkey could craft a bandanna using 9 silk and a cutlass using 4 grass and 5 wood.

 

20. Powder monkeys Instead of retreating when getting hit they will retreat after the enemy is killed.

 

21. Befriended will also Powder monkeys will harvest grass, saplings and more.

 

22.follower powder monkeys won't donate bananas to their queen.

 

23. Monkey trinkets dropped by Wonkey will not fall into anyone's inventory forever.

 

24. When befriended Powder Monkeys Die, their trinkets won't fall in anyone's inventory for 48 seconds.

 

25. Splumonkeys can now jump on boats. 

 

26. Splumonkeys will have a new reject animation for being given the wrong foods.

 

27. Powder monkeys have a new reject animation for be given the wrong foods.

 

28. If Wonkey dies, he will now become a ghost instead of turning back to the original character.

 

29. Wonkey now has skins.

 

30. Players can now change Wonkey's quotes to a specific characters in the customization place. 

 

These updates will make Wonkey a fun character, Splumonkeys and Powder Monkeys can now be controlled an will no longer be enemies. I put a lot of time and effort into some of the concepts. I'm soon planning to move this to a skill tree(Maybe). Also, This idea was inspired by another post.

 

Also, feel free to post a suggestion or something.

I was just thinking what if once you unlock Wonkey His slot will replace the random character slot, so if you have trinkets and are playing a wonkey it makes sense for him to turn into random characters

Also, I think rather than being to pick what quote he has, I think he should have his own quotes

feel free to borrow any and all of this skill tree. 

Crafting essentials: pirate’s bandanna,cutless,Captain's Tricorn, battle paddle,Cannon Kit ,Cannonball,Pirate Sloop,Moon Quay Pirate Banner
Crafting trinkets: can make and equipped  different kinds of variance of accursed trinkets with different buffs


Acursed agility:faster sprint
acursed piracy: innate knowledge of where The powder monkeys hide there pirate stash
Acursed embrace:can remove acursed trinkets from inventory and keep the curse   
Acursed mastery: can put acursed trinkets on pig and bunny men to share your curse and mind(you now control them)

unnaturally charged: can touch the portal to charge  your curse to deal more powerful attacks      
unaturally connected:use your connection with the portal to make it give you acursed  trinkets when you give it niter(or some other power source other then Moon gleams idk)

monkey paw: can open fire trapped chest without triggering it    
monkey Ambassador: can you give allies the right of passage
 

also, I thought up new alignments

Shadow coryphaeus: (you can give befriended spluemonkeys pure horror to turn them into corrupted shadow spluemonkeys who can wear bandannas and use cutlass And when I’m boats the pole Towards wherever you aiming)after turning five corrupted shadow splumonkeys gain a new form, which is like a mixture between  your  regular form,Prime mates,and Corrupted shadow splumonkeys

Lunar missionary: (you can give befriended spluemonkeys pure brilliance to turn them into purified  lunar spluemonkeys who can wear bandannas and use cutlass And when I’m boats the pole Towards wherever you aiming)after turning five  purified Lunar splumonkeys gain a new form, which is like a mixture between  your  regular form,Prime mates,and purified Lunar splumonkeys

Maybe for characters that aren’t too wonkey before the wonkey ones it should be actual words

First one, It wouldn't make sense if Wonkey's slot automatically appeared when transforming. Second one, Unless playing as transformed, Wonkey shouldn't turn into random characters when such.

Third, I used to think that too. However, It's not like Wonkey was already himself before we unlocked him.

Well, to the monkey Character you're referring to known as Wilbur. Wilbur speaks incomprehensible monkey noises. Wonkey can't have his quotes because it wouldn't make sense while the powder monkeys are speaking normal English. If we were to make all of them speak monkey noises. It'll just take out the fun.

I think what NPC Maxwell means is for non-wonkey character since powder monkeys only speak words when you’re a wonkey and only too wonkeys

 wonkey would have his own quotes that the player and other wonkeys can see wow other players see monkey noises

exactly I was only refering to non-wonkeys hearing quotes that work like wilbur's language (thanks for reminding me of the SW monkey's name)

I don't want Wonkey to be "reworked" or anything due to the fact that they exists primarily as a curse and a nuisance by losing your powers and losing an inventory slot.

In general, Wonkey could just have very simple extra quirks of loving bananas and pirate raid immunity or something as they got no real threat against them. Maybe. Maybe not idk.

It's a curse and it's there to exists as something we would hate to have.

I stand against the curse, I dislike Wonkey being hated. Like for this update, I've been waiting quite a few months. not to get a curse but a gift. And the fact that there's already a curse is why I made this post. I respect your opinion however.

Once again, that's why the post is created. For the purpose of changing Wonkey from this type of transformation. Wonkey is better than a odd transformation.

Ya, the reason I was thinking of wonkey replacing the random slot is because I what if try’s the detransitioning thing with monkey queen and the random slot represent all of the survivors but I guess if you couldn’t do that the wonky character when Selected from a slot 

Play picture won’t be as an empty of the curse the more shrink that you get just he’s tied to the  physical world And thus converting his hosts body into his

i  wonder if there’s a way we can think of to get him a host that’s not a preestablished character 

 

I thought of it we use meat effigy 

Little change how you unlock him a bit rather than just the transformation, locking him what you gotta do Next to me with no one in range of the accursed trinkets and with no living potential hosts around wonkey tries something new and Attaches the accursed trinkets to the meat effigy and it works

So that means the cursed character wonkey Work the same as it does now with the possible exception access to the skill tree

Or if you able to give accursed trinkets to Other players you could be able to give to meat effigies without the need for death

That's what I think, Although the character transformed Into wonkey. They should still speak monkey noises to non-monkey characters.

Well, the character slot has nothing to do with de-transformation. Only the trinkets do.

Yeah, but my thoughts are different from that. DST is boring with Wonkey being a semi-character. As I monkey fan, I think It will be more fun if wonkey were to become a actual character.

so the reason I originally suggested Repurposing the random character slot. It’s because I was thinking where is the person who selected wonkey? For experiment sake, decided to go through the process of detransitioning process that you go through now with the trinkets to Get rid of the curse and I was thinking the character you turn into when revoking the curse with the trinkets from A slot picked wonkey would be randomized  but like I said you’re right slot picked wonkey shouldn’t be able to detransition

What about your gut feeling Makes you unsure?Also, I was on the question thread turns out you can’t give a curse trinkets to other people without dying.

Also in case the part you were unsure about was what happens with wonkey after the meat effigy well I was thinking he would be teleported out there similar to how Webber is teleported out there after being revived but on second thought and contrast to Maxwell Charlie tends to try to keep the survivors together, so I’m gonna have to workshop  that

I was just thinking so I’ve been having trouble figuring out how to make this work and I was doing some research into wonkey and realized i’m pretty sure something that is the cursed itself can’t be the accursed. I was thinking what if part of monkeys skill tree is instead of the slot there’s just a way to get the curse easier added in
