Wortox should have Forge and Gorge alignments Instead of Shadow and Lunar.

Ok hear me out.

Wortox is a funny guy. A silly little guy. A comedian even.

He also has the ability to hop dimensions with seemingly very little effort, and is even responsible for causing the Terraria Crossover.

Survival is only a game for Wortox. He's native to the constant after all, but not even Wurt or Wormwood could walk away like he can.

So, if Charlie and Wagstaff are going to keep causing all these problems and "changing the rules" if you would. Then why wouldn't Wortox want to do the same and cause a bit of mischief in the process? Especially when there are two neighboring worlds who would love to have a stake in the coming conflict.

Forge alignment would probably be pretty simple.

The Forge was all about combat, so Forge-Aligned Wortox would probably get perks focused on combat. For example, Soul Hopping could leave behind a rift that attracts enemies and explodes a few seconds later. Or he could gain the ability to shear souls off of still-living targets, giving him a way to heal himself and allies in long boss fights without having to stockpile bees or butterflies.

Gorge alignment though is a bit more... ambiguous. The Gorge was all about food and cooking, which as you probably know, happens to be Wortox's main downside. So not a strong start there, but I think it can still be salvaged.

Sense Forge-Alignment would be about combat, I could see Gorge-Alignment bolstering his teleportation or support abilities. For example, he could have a longer teleport range and leave behind a Wyrm Hole that other players can jump through to follow him, similarly to Wanda's rift watch. And sense this is the Gorge we're talking about, teleporting through the map could also cost hunger instead of Souls. Wortox has a pretty big stomach, And a meaty stew is a meaty stew regardless of hunger penalties.

It could also be interesting of Gorge-Aligned Wortox was considered a "merm" instead of a Monster. That was the Gnaw's whole shtick after all, and it would be- Well I won't call it a buff, but a mix-up? The main difference is that pigs would still be hostile towards you, but Catcoons, Frogs, and Bunnymen wouldn't be. I forget exactly how much is changed by the Merm tag being on the player. But at most it would almost make Wortox a Diet-Wurt. You might call that to much overlap. But I call that character synergy. Plus, the ability to have followers other than Rock Lobsters could synergize with the improved teleportation by making them warp with him whenever he soul hopped across the map.

Now, you probably have a few questions, like "How would you unlock Forge and Gorge alignment if not through AFW or CC?", "How would alignment damage and resistance work with Forge and Gorge alignment", or maybe even "Why the hell is this guy suggesting this? I thought he hated skill trees". Well the good news is, I can answer one of those.

Instead of trying to each alignment to an existing one. I say we just split the difference. Forge alignment gets 10% increased damage against both lunar and shadow aligned monsters, while Gorge alignment would get 10% reduced damage from the same targets. Half the effect, twice the distribution. Does that sound fair? I think that sounds fair.

Thank you everyone for coming to my TED Talks. This absolutely won't happen, but I thought it was funny and that's what counts.

Neutrality to frogs and the ability to befriend merms

Yeah, that's what I thought. I know that Wurt's mermbilities are divided between several different tags. So I wasn't sure if the merm tag specifically did things like making you unable to trade with PK or slowing down the spoilage of live fish in your inventory. Still though, it would be an interesting change to play with.
