There is a lot of rude behavior coming from forum regulars. Then, more rude comments in response.

I don't want to have to keep locking threads because you all keep butting heads.

If you don't like somebody else, put them on ignore and move on.

If you can't post politely, don't post.

If you have multiple warnings for being rude on threads, you're going to get a suspension, and if you have had one before it will be doubled.

I really try not to have to take action and suspend/ban - but it's getting old guys.

sorry joeW, it will never happen again

bro.. What is going on with people? why is this term being used randomly to discredit arguments.

Is this an only America thing?

was this at all a necessary comment

Yes. I'm basically saying that the majority of people can do it.

same as saying "anyone can be a good chef and everyone has a space in the kitchen, unless you have something going on that disrupts that".

I swear to God this language barrier is a nightmare for me.

The main idea is that we shouldn't nerf these bosses simply because you couldn't do it or didn't have fun doing it. Sure some fights can be improved, but reworking from ground 0 is something I do not think is a great idea.

like.. if the majority can do it, then why a minority shall give voice to make the fight easier?
I have some pretty radical ideas sometimes, but I keep most of them to myself. If I think something is messed up, then I'll say it. If I think something doesn't make sense, I'll be open to argue about it. If I realize that the majority enjoys it like that, then so be it.

Yea, I mean, I get it. I'm the kind of person just to want to suffer if the RNGeesus doesn't bless and being put to think of different solutions when it doesn't work.

me 2. I like to embrance the rng.

I mean, let's be rational here:
basically all major bosses are HARD to learn, but easy to master.

Now that doesn't mean that the fights are fun, perfect or doesn't need improvements.

My point is that we shouldn't take fun from people who already enjoy the fights to make others that don't enjoy it happy.

And I'm just representing this category of people who enjoy basically ALL bosses in the game.

There is a common ground for us, we just gotta find it.

Here's a little taste of my run, and no I don't let beefalo be allowed outside of purely moving the marble sculpture pieces and the celestial altars as they make the game simply way too easy, I allow gestalts but not bone cages (Obviously bone cages are supposed to damage you but a bug makes it so you don't take damage, and gestalts are a lunar creature and don't deal damageMy_Awesome_Win.png.2898642051f2c8ac5daccfe9ee2b2000.png

Is this [REDACTED] ?

Honestly, everyone should watch this even if they aren't interested in rushing or challenges. The point about old boss designs Guille made seemed debatable, but he has the fights footage to back it up. I don't know if I was sleeping under the rock and these are all well known, but for me this is revolutionary. I no longer want rework for any of them, as I simply had a massive skill issue and didn't study those bosses enough.

Using panflute to delay last larva, de-agro df, and guarantee an enrage. Getting something as simple as 4 water ballons and 30 grass tuffs to destroy last half of bee queen fight. Marking fuelweavers cage range for easier dodging. Skipping werepig because he sucks. This video has more useful information on fighting bosses than any guide I've seen.

bro, you're a ****ing speedrunner. It feels ridiculous to need to point out to you that even a few levels below this level of execution is just not something everyone can or even just wants to achieve. Obviously you're not saying that everybody should be able to do this, but if you're not, then this just doesn't really prove anything, at least not anything people didn't already know. Speedrunner good at game. Speedrunner love game.

I'm just replying to this now but it saddens me to see this post get so many likes, you're essentially invalidating my opinion because I'm a "f***ing speedrunner". Imagine if I saw a new player complaining about the bosses being too hard and I responded to that with "bro, you're a f***ing new player!" I would obviously be banned from the forums for a remark like that but I have no idea why the community not only accepts but celebrates this kind of behavior by just replacing the word with "speedrunner"

Your response is also a complete non sequitur because my post had nothing to do with speedrunning, the run I shared was not a speedrun, nobody ever brought up speedrunning in this thread, and my past experience as a speedrunner had absolutely no bearing on the opinion that I shared. I just said that the bosses give a lot of room for optimizations and creativity and I never even implied that every person reading this thread should spend hundreds of hours like I have to optimize every millisecond of the fights. That would be a nonsensical opinion to have and as you might have guessed is not at all what I was saying

Part of the problem is that everybody who objects to the ridiculous damage sponges and 10-minute long fights when the game is played solo is thrown into the same bucket: "game too hard". But we're actually not all claiming to be incapable of completing or even especially challenged by these encounters.

Cool because I wasn't addressing everyone who thinks the new bosses are too hard/long/etc, I was addressing specifically the people who think the old bosses can't be fought in any way other than the popular ones that are shared by youtubers and those that think the fights require specific items in order to get openings to deal damage (e.g. weather pains for fuelweaver/toadstool, walls for dragonfly, etc). My video simply happened to be a good example of my stance because it had all the major fights with timestamps, that's it. There was never an implication that the specific way I fought the bosses in my video was THE way I wanted people to do the fights, it was just how I personally chose to do them; that was my point, that the bosses don't require highly specific items and that instead you as a player have the freedom to choose whichever gear you think balances out difficulty with resource cost and time to kill.

I also plain and simply never addressed anything relating to the fights being "too hard"; I have no idea why you brought up this up when my opinion never alluded to this aspect of the fights. I also was never shutting down discussion on whether the fights were "too long"; in fact, this may come as a surprise to you but I literally had another thread a while back in which I specifically suggested a way in which Klei could make the fights easier and faster for those that want them to be that way without resorting to "cheesy" tactics. I'm not against the fights being made more intuitive or accessible and I have no idea why a bunch of people in this thread randomly assigned that opinion to me when I never even remotely implied it with my post. All I was saying was that it's factually untrue to claim that the bosses don't give openings or that they require too much of a specific item to beat, that's it. It's genuinely not that complicated

I've never seen anyone have to defend their achievement so hard before. If someone is proud of what they've done, they don't leave sticky notes to supplement what they've done right.

You can't ask people to recognize your achievement lmao. Either they do or they don't. Doesn't help to alienate people who are on your side either, OP.

Either you're proud of your achievement and disregard people who aren't impressed, or recognize that doing something fast in a survival game isn't that impressive to begin with.

This is the only community that could turn a simple "Oh I did a cool thing" post into an 8 page argument. We need a new update asap this community's has too much time on their hands.
