Thoughts about some bosses

Tbh I like the absurd amount of preparation required for fuelweaver. It really makes the fight seem like a big event, and I personally think that gathering a shopping list of things needed for fw and collecting them is fun. I think the amount of item management needed in the fight is fun too. While celestial champion’s simplicity is still fun I definitely prefer the chaotic mess that is fw;  constantly having to swap between items and keep track of a large number of things. It almost turns the game into an RTS and I like that honestly, there’s nothing else quite like it.

imagine needing to farm and craft different items for a boss in a survival crafting sandbox game

FW is interesting, I've done it with a group - quite fun. But mostly solo, I have to accept that the game isn't designed for solo play, but it's possible - love that, i'm thankful.
I find it difficult without prepping the usual, I can't do it without the optimal gear available and without the weather pains. I cheese it, awkwardly with rock lobsters a few times but mainly voidwalking.

I think it's fine if we consider its not really designed for solo play, but I can see the arguement that it's a bit odd and almost out of place nowadays. If i'm being honest, CC's kit is fine but the thing that makes it so much easier is the fact if you really wanted to you can just take it a phase at a time, with FW you're having to commit then and there for the full fight. Outside of the cheese i've had that moment 2 or 3 times where you just accept that you're fighting a losing battle and he's going to out heal your dps if you didn't prepare correctly.

This is why i don't mind cheese or it not being patched. Ngl, there's a barrier to my frustration where i'm going to cheese it if i mess up too much or i'm gonna stop playing for a bit until i forget that I messed up and a rollback is not going to prevent me from having to get more things (Cause of being underprepared).

The only boss I really dislike has to be BQ - it's more my issue though, it's just really frustrating when you use winona and forget the cost of repairing the catapults, defo just going to make a little Merm setup.

I entirely disagree with that description of Fuelweaver; IMO FW is the best designed boss in the game because the prep time that you'll have to spend for the fight pretty much mirrors exactly 1:1 how hard you want the fight to be: If you can dodge the bone cage you don't need lazy explorers, if you can keep track of and prepare for when he does the insanity attack you don't need a nightmare amulet, and if you can prevent him from reaching his woven shadows you don't need weather pains, etc; ofc you don't have to do all of these at once, practicing for 1 or 2 of these things will already make a massive difference (especially if you cut out the weather pains which isn't as hard as the others), and the end result is a fight that actually requires very little prep time compared to the other raid bosses but demands the execution from the player to be on point

I agree. Aside from nonsense like needing a hammer for the skeleton, I feel once you have the right tools, it's all down to the management of them. When I fail I feel like it was my fault.

In comparison with Bee Queen I feel like I'm forced into strategies, and then punished for using said strategies. Bees force me to drive them away to avoid stunlock during the last two phases and then the boss makes more bees because they went too far. Or forcing me into using high amount of speed boosts, and then hindering it with the obnoxious honey trail. Tanking is punished because she constantly moves in random patterns. Even when I win it just feels like suffering.

Somehow the skills and patience I need for the Fuelweaver fight just feel better than for the Bee Queen.
