DST Characters as RPG Archetypes

Recommended Posts

For fun I was trying to think of what RPG archetypes each of the characters of DST might fit into. I was also curious what archetypes Klei hasn't really made characters for yet. So far I got something like this.

Fighter/Warrior/Barbarian = Wolfgang/Wigfrid

Glass Cannon = Wanda

Healer = Wortox

Ranger/Sniper = Walter

Buffer = Warly

Tank = WX-78?

Rogue/Thief = ?

Mage = Wickerbottom/Maxwell

Summoner = Wendy/Willow/Wurt/Webber?

Druid = Woodie and maybe Wormwood?

Bard = Wes lol

I'm not sure where I'd put Wilson though.

It seems to me like there isn't a real tank or rogue character yet. For tank all I could think of is maybe WX-78 with a bunch of health circuits. With new characters being added it would be interesting if there was a character that could soak up a lot of damage for a team but did not do much offensive wise. There also doesn't seem to be a Rogue/Sneak Thief type of character either. Perhaps a character that has "bush hat" like abilities that allow them to camouflage themselves or set traps. I guess wormwood can make traps.

Maybe you guys can think of more archetypes or where each character might better fit into.

Wigfrid fits into the bard/tank/paladin archetypes, not barbarian (even though she acts like one)

Druid is wormwood for sure

Surprised that you didn't include Maxwell as summoner considering his whole thing is having others do things for him

Wes could be a rogue I suppose because he's completely silent
