I wanted to be able to jump on this one before it comes out. I feel that Wanda as she is now is as balanced as she has ever been, but wanted to get some opinions from some other DST players as I'm just a single DST player.

1. The alarming clock itself is kind of broken. Dealing near dark sword damage while chilling back at +2 range makes everything too easy. Just try fighting a tentacle as Wilson with a dark sword and Wanda with an alarming clock. It's not even close.

For reference, the Tail o'Three Cats and the bull kelp stalk have the same range but each deal 27.2 damage. Walter's marble rounds (which will take an eternity to farm) has a dps value close to that of a Wilson with a spear. The brightshade staff deals only 10 damage on a single target (20 to shadow entities).

The new howlitzer does deal 68 damage but it's endgame equipment for now, unlike the alarming clock which can be obtained in your first autumn.

All in all, Wanda doesn't need a planar damage buff given how strong the alarming clock already is. I will acknowledge that playing as old Wanda against planar entities is no longer as rewarding as it is against non-planar enemies. Planar enemies have more tricky attack patterns and also deal a significant amount of damage.

2, The rest of Wanda's perks more than make up for her current "weakness" against planar enemies. 2nd chance watch trivializes dying when you have a Wanda on your team. Teleportation is... well teleportation (and you can take your team/moveable structures with you too). Other perks include not having to deal with healing food and as somewhat mentioned above, she makes sanity creatures a joke (literally hold f against crawling horrors). Plus, she has a good use of nightmare fuel unlike most other survivors who probably only find use out of nightmare fuel through dark swords and ruins crafts.

I completely agree, the first time since she appeared that the character seems to be catching up with the others. Furthermore, when it comes to a strong character (especially in fighting) what we imagine is Wolfgang, there is no reason for this to be any different. Wanda ended up taking space from the strong man, which doesn't make sense. Plus, we have another FIGHTER: Wigfrid. If someone deserves to compete for the podium on THIS issue, it's her.

Finally: I don't expect Wanda to gain any damage buff

I agree Wanda is already a little too powerful, but she does need a little planar damage too make alarming clock available to planar entity.

My proposal is that she can convert part (≤10) of her alarming clock damage into plane damage, make it available to planar entity but also a little weaker against non-planar mobs because planar damage does not apply her damage multiplier.

Perhaps make the watch deal planar dmg only if fueled through pure horror. And instead of adding damage just make it change its type.
Nightmarefuel would still deal the normal amount of dmg and a horror fueled alarming clock could deal: 61.6 + 20 planar as young Wanda, 77.92 + 20 planar while middle-aged and 122.8 + 20 planar as old Wanda, to avoid giving her more damage vs other non-planar enemies

i think klei should give her an extra 25 planar damage while old, but only exclusive to the shadow reaper.

You need to stop listening to the shadow reaper's whispers... the wormwood mains are becoming scared of you now :wilsondisapproving:

A straight up planar damage boosting skillset suits Wolfgang as a simple character with simple to understand damage boosts and simple downsides. Its good to have simple characters.

But wanda is not a simple character an deserves a much more elegant solution that could take the form of a new clock.

I suggest a ranged planar clock weapon that works like the boomerrang however when it comes back to you if you time another attack as it returns, you launch it back at the mob but with increased damage, the more times you successfully do this the stronger the clock gets.

Imagine it like reflecting the magic ball in the link vs ganondorf fight in ocarina of time.
