The inventory images are often different, like other propotions/angles and more contrast or brighter colors. That's for quicker finding in the crafting menu or inventory. It needs also some contrast from the inventory/crafting menu background. I think it's fine. I believe this is supposed to be the new design for the player built one, it hasn't made it in yet it seems, though. EDIT: I've made a report for it here.
