Catapults using HS as target.

Recommended Posts

A few updates ago, they made it so that the houndius shootius couldn't attack each other, but with that came 2 problems.

1.- To kill a houndius shootius, you have to press ctrl and click to attack for each hit you have to give i

2.- Winona catapults no longer take houndius shootius as targets for throwing stone

Could we have this last one back? I wouldn't want to have to relegate Chester to being a catapult slave, or even having the catapults be able to target dummies would be better. This way we could also know how much damage the catapults do.

If you're talking about feather farm, there are plenty ways to kill krampii without catapults, or methods that don't spawn krampii

Huh? No krampus involved in the farm I know. Specific turfs set up for snowbirds, anemones to block them landing except for specific spots and you get catapults to attack a houndius which they can't damage then you spam books of the world. You can get multiple stacks of azure feathers and morsels real quick.

An example of "methods that don't summon krampii" in my first comment: You can trigger bramble husk on a target dummy using pillows to quickly kill birds. No houndius shootius required.

I think you can also use weapon-less primate to trigger your bramble husk to kill birds but that might not be viable anymore

Interesting, run me through that some time.

You can see the reason for my response though right? The one I know doesn't spawn krampii but does require catapults.

It's the same set up as the one you used, just replace houndius with a target dummy. Place mini signs around it and cast a dwarf star on the signs, so ice flingomatic can freeze the birds.

Equip bramble husk and give one to the target dummy, read books, hit target dummy with pillow or any other 0 damage weapons. The birds will die to bramble husk AOE while not losing durability because pillows deal no damage.

Yes, I do.

If you still want to use catapults you can exploit a glitch with boats that boosts the momentum of projectiles.

Here's an example photo of the setup with Wickerbottom moments before being domed by Winona's Catapult.

The trick relies on the fact that the boat is telling the catapult it is still moving as fast as the sails claim it's moving. Thankfully the boat isn't capable of cognitive thought, so the catapult isn't any the wiser and constantly overshoots the targeted wall.

For some reason the momentum preservation will only work if the boat thinks it is moving towards the South West. If you have the boat "sailing" towards the South East or the North West the projectile will veer to the right or left of the target. If it is "sailing" towards the North East the catapult will toss rocks onto itself. Fortunately on a fresh boat sails will always orient themselves to the South West, so there is no reason to place a steering wheel unless you want it to aim weird.

You can also place a rudder on the boat and manually rotate where the rock is landing in a perfect circle around the boat.

Mind you this is absolutely a glitch, so don't be surprised if this gets fixed.

Chester also still works.
