Enlightened Deck Illuminator

I'm in the habit of putting a glowcap on my boats thanks to the infinite light from crown shards and the lack of a proper deck illuminator that can use it. It would be great if there was a craft or upgrade for a deck illuminator that consumed a crown shard for infinite light on the mast attachment. This would be a really nice QoL to save some space on the boat.

I've long considered the Deck Illuminator in its current form to be too inadequate to be worth using, given the grave necessity lightning protection, little to no need for more than one sail, a mast only being able to have one accessory on it, and a fully fueled deck illuminator not even casting that much light despite its height and the necessity of a wider viewing angle while at sea.

I wouldn't mind an infinite light deck illuminator, but without addressing the above issues, it'd be doomed to be just as useless as what we have now.

Maybe you don't use more than one sail, but pretty much everyone I play with will have at least 2 malbatross sails, and I know of one person who runs boats with 4 of them. For us, we often run with nothing on top one of the sails, or we'll use a second lightning conductor for aesthetics. I agree that the current deck illuminator is more nuisance than anything.

I would like a toadstool drop that is just a glowcap but is an upgrade for the deck illuminator, that is cooler

Having 2 malbatross sails is good.

Deck illuminator is indeed hot garbage and massively needs a buff or potential upgrades you can install.
