Wonz
I know he's joke character that's supposed to be weak but those ideas make him stronger, making bad luck work for him. Unluckiness Chance for some tools to break instantly below 50% but they will drop half of their materials potentially making multiple tools last longer. Chopping tall trees has a small chance of some items falling on Wes' head causing penalties if not dodged Eggs -10 sanity, eg dies Twigs -1hp Cones, birchnuts, nothing, it's smol. Spawning battilisks, birchnutters or few attack bees Mining any rocks sometimes reveals unstable nitre core sizzling and exploding, hurting Wes if not dodged or awakening a hound sleeping behind it. Lightning Less damage taken from lightnings Being hit by lightning will increase your movement speed (Switching to speed balloon is uncomfy imo, could as well get a few electrical hits instead) Balloon sword (or hammer to fit the thunder god) craft dealing no or almost no damage but building up electrostatics on the enemy (actually weapon carries the stacks) eventually attracting lightning to them compensating for laughable damage, and more likely to hit Wes than the enemy instead unless he's wearing a balloon hat. Crafting balloons charges the weapon a bit, rubbing the balloon on your hair by right-clicking it also charges it at the cost of some durability but allows you to start a fight or long "invulnerability phase" with a bang. Exploration sinking in balloon vest will put you on a random land edges rather than the closest one Mime Invisible line to pull things beyond reach like those stuck on water and maybe those on pedestals in ruins Invisible line can be thrown on mobs like koalephant or goats to be dragged by them for speed.(not sure how often it would be useful but i'm throwing it in anyway) Inspecting players to perform mime gestures grants sanity loss reduction aura and slight sanity regen (works on allies only) will distract allies enough to not fall asleep or resist mind control. inspecting enemies changes their aggro to Wes, once every 30 seconds the inspected non-boss enemy can be immobilized by an invisible box until breached through. Closing yourself in an invisible box for a few seconds, the enemy can't reach you but you can't reach the enemy or move. Use it so your teammate can catch up to the horde that aggroed on you, 30s cooldown, might help to nullify the boss' attack once in a while 30 seconds. When taking lethal damage Wes pops like a balloon revealing it was a decoy balloon dropping the hand, body and head slot items. Real Wes comes out of an invisible door at low health in a close location. This ability goes on a cooldown until Wes regains full health and maintains it for at least 30 seconds. Also based on an act where mimes act as if there was a strong wind. It could push items on the ground in the opposite direction Wes is struggling with the wind so they're easier to pick up once they meet the land's edge or walls because they're clumped up closer in one dimension, push small critters (lavae even), fire, speed up sails, decrease or at least speed up cooling in summer. Invisible mirror , deaggroing mobs by irritating their eyes if it's daytime, magnifying glass to cause smolderin. Can't all add of that because amount if inputs wouldn't suffice but I wanted to show the unlucky mime has potential. I'm sure vast majority of us haven't used nothing from friendly wes so far, neither we're seeing any more than once a week for short time, in months i've had just one game where I could acknowledge one's presence just because he was cooking, fetching me stuff while i was farming and filling the base with balloons where people opted for food or sleep for sanity rather than popping the decorations. He's kind of wasted effort if there was good reason to play him Klei would finally get extra buck off his skins. It's either give something to players and earn money on it or bully virtual character's kit. Choice is obvious. Wonz
Also I wanted to add. Easiest support character is 80% strong on their own and 20% supportve if you know what I mean. If it's like warly where spiced jelly buff is hecking massive you'll end up with character that's basic on their own because adding something that belongs only to them would make them together with buffs too strong and with even just 2 extra friends, 1 even his supportive capabiities make the struggle laughable. Honestly before skill trees i'd hope for 2nd look in core stuff like combat or if easy to get 80% damage reduction, gobbling food for fast heal is really uncompromising enough to let skill trees in. The biggest challenge I had while playing wes was to keep playing while getting annoyed by his 75 hunger stomach and by his sloweness to do basic things. I found wormwood and walter to be more of a challenge than wes. He's straight up slow, not hard. Lower sanity is good actually so smaller sanity foods can bring you out of insanity faster because it's % based. Most of you hunger can lie in your pocket in form of meatballs and jerky. He just takes forever to chop and mine, that's only challenging your patience, you have much more time than enough to gather what you need to survive but it's just tedious as him. low health stops being a problem once you can make log suit and that's often day 1. Don't starve has crazy damage reduction on armors i believe all monster should hit weaker but also armors should have less damage reduction so it's not that mandatory but anyway back to the health. 80% damage reduction makes Wes have effective 375 health. taking 10 pierogi for a boss fight shouldn't be a problem. with those he'd have effective 2375 health bosses do like 75-150 damage. That's 15-31 hits survived, given you can dodge it's a breeze. Wanna know how much longer wilson could survive with his 150 health in similar scenario? 2450 effective health that is. Max health amounts to nothing because healing food is too good. People are now worrying about perks ruining some balance like if there was any to begin with. If you were to pay attention if something is going to happen to you like something falling on your head so you have to dodge or rock exploding before you fully mine it then it would give a little more zap to your neurons and not want to sleep every second while swinging tools with him. Seen some people play him for challenge, they used beefalo like you're now playing beefalo not Wes.
