Does anyone else also feel the current form of were-moose should be the Woodie's base ability?

Recommended Posts

Edit: I am a woodie main, i tend to use weremoose to fight bosses and stuff.

The original weremoose felt a little underwhelmed. The damage was 59.5, no regen, no brake on dash.

I feel the current upgraded form should be the default form of were-moose.

Maybe were-goose too? The original one seems a little underwhelmed too.

No way, Weremoose in its current form can solo shadow splumonkeys, tier 3 spider dens, and round 100+ hound waves better than any other survivor. The ability to charge through an entire group of mobs over and over is unparalleled.

Now I love the woodie buffs, but the base weremoose should not be underestimated

Personally I agree it almost feels required to take the form trees as quaility of life fixes rather than distinct choices it kinda feels like the final choices of the trees would have been regular choices on each tree had the forms been good initially.

I think not, if only because then either the weremoose would have 3 new skills making it even more broken, or then it would have no skills for it whatsoever. I think the skills are fine. Most of the other skills for the other forms are pretty meh, so you can pretty comfortable spend the 4 points without feeling like there are more important things to spend them on. While I'm not a fan of having one clearly best skill in a mutually exclusive choice, now that skill trees are a mechanic, it's fine to have character power gated behind skill points - just not too much of it. And base weremoose, while significantly less user friendly, is still very useable.

I know a certain dead girl that does the job at least a little better.

This was also true pre skill tree and he was widely considered lackluster as moose his tree not including the final skill is basically like selling a bug fix as a skill.

I don't think it makes a difference.

If you value weremoose upgrades you'd invest points in it and feel good about your decision, and if you don't, you won't. Relegating that to the base weremoose form doesn't really accomplish anything besides taking a bit of choice away from the player.

I mean that's Woodie for you, and underwhelming character with no real reason to play other than personality or rushing lunar island.

Personally I feel like the final abilities should still be skills but the skills leading up to them are just necessary fixes aside from goose which is why goose tree can feel lackluster by comparsion.

You don't feel like you need the goose tree skills but they could be useful. While with beaver and moose you know they need them to be competent.
