While I tried to balance these, I can't be sure if I did a very good job. Branch 1. Efficiency - Improving energy regeneration and circuit durability Spoiler Extended Warranty I-III (circuits last longer) Circuits have 50% more durability (6 uses) Circuits have 100% more durability (8 uses) Circuits no longer lose durability when removed/Circuits have 200% more durability (12 uses) Energy Efficient I-III (less time spent waiting for energy to regenerate) Energy regenerates in 60 seconds Energy regenerates in 30 seconds Energy is no longer lost when removing Circuits Reinforced Reserves (lose less energy due to freezing/wetness) Lose 1 charge instead of 2 due to freezing, charge lost due to wetness reduced. Branch 2. - Empowered Circuits - Gain additional benefits for circuits equipped and access to new experimental circuits Spoiler Diversity I-III (circuits become stronger for each unique circuit equipped. Circuits with no increasable stats instead grant extra maximum hunger health and sanity) Circuits are 10% better per unique circuit, +10 stats Circuits are 20% better per unique circuit, +20 stats Circuits are 30% better per unique circuit, +35 stats Nanomachines I-III (equipped circuits are weaker but you gain benefits based on skill level) Become immune to physical stuns (Werepig/Brightshade knockback, generic hits. Freezing and mind control not included) Your attacks are 25% faster You heal for a portion of the damage you just took after a few seconds of not taking damage Experimental Circuits (gain access to powerful, yet unstable circuits. Unstable circuits are too dangerous for more than 1 to be equipped) Overcharged Circuit - Gain 25% increased crafting speed, 15% work efficiency, and 10% speed (stacks additively with the speed circuit and Enhanced Arms skill). An overcharge meter slowly builds up overtime, if it ever fills you lose a portion of your maximum health. The meter charges at a slower rate while moving, and regress while working, crafting, or fighting. Requires 3 nodes. Self-destruct Circuit - Upon dying, deal the greater value of 500 damage OR 25% maximum health damage to ALL nearby creatures after a brief delay. Requires 1 node. Attempting to equip a second will kill WX, activating the explosion. The circuit is destroyed on death if equipped. Taunting Circuit - Creatures aggressive towards you become enraged, gaining speed and faster attacks, but take 15% extra damage from ALL sources. When a enraged creature changes targets, they will remain enraged for for a few seconds before calming down. Works on giants. Requires 2 nodes. Branch 3. Robotic Enhancements - Direct improvements to WX-78 Spoiler Enhanced Arms I-II (work faster) Work efficiency increased by 10% Work efficiency increased by 20% Enhanced Digestion I-II (remove penalties for eating food) Health penalties caused by eating food are ignored All negative effects caused by food are ignored. Rot can be consumed but gives no stats. Branch 4. Affinity - Spoiler Shadow Commander 3 Shadelings follow you around, providing company and assistance during fights. The Shadelings deal planar damage and can't be killed, but will stop attacking their target if you aren't actively attacking it. Lunar Charged Gain access to 2 extra nodes. You take 25% extra damage from ALL sources while these nodes are in use. NNOUS Posted July 10, 2023 Share Posted July 10, 2023 As a wx main after rework this is my opinion: Issue with WX is some circuit combo is much better and then others, such case outshine even more comprare to other usages due to durability lost while changing circuit/trying other combos. This is a flaw of lacking after thought on the current design, and I doubt just by buffing efficient is the right choice to cover it. While saying that, it's a nice idea nonetheless. Other then have a skill tree versed towards EFFICIENCY I'd like to focus one the UTILITY as the game progresses, that have ability at max tier to change how some circuit function, that could be : after wx reach to max tier utility tree he can take his circuit to alchemy engine, "rework" the circuit. This way player can choose to get the 'update' or not. Like the root design of WX78 Ideas on utility tree: Spoiler Illumination Circuit: Form 3slot >2 slot. But required fuel. Change it into a built-in lantern. Wx no longer gain 1hp eating bolb. Rather to charge it's circuit. Electrification Circuit: still 2slot but changing mechanics, while mx is moving its generate a charge that would be stored in the circuit. (2-3 tile?) and next attack deal bonus 30 electric damage. If one more circuit is installed then the charging distance needed is decreased by 33% and deal another 30 dmg. (0%,33%,66%) I like ur idea around the experiment circuit the overcharge circuits, its should be also give the same stat like speed v2 circuit (2 slot) but player take 25% more damage by any sources. that would more effecient and balanced. that could be made with speed v2, 3 wires and a purple gem. but the other circuits seems quite gimmicky, comparing to others they would remain left alone outshined. the affinity design of yours is not thought out. BionicScorp Posted July 18, 2023 Share Posted July 18, 2023 I am a WX-78 main, and I really love this skill tree with almost everything matching their playstyle well, and all of these things with benefit them with a few exceptions. Any new circuits would need to be very strong to be worth using over speed circuits, as speed is not only very useful but is a very big part of Wx-78's playstyle. And the last thing is that anything that makes circuits less efficient would not be very useful as well because as I said before circuits are a very big part of Wx-78's playstyle, so it would not find much use.
