chirsg
If you look closely, there are outlines of burned crockpots. Yes. That's right. This is an instance of the very unfortunate event you may all know as griefing. I'll explain to 90% of you who are unaware with the term, griefing As defined by Wikipedia: Griefer A griefer or bad-faith player is a player in a multiplayer video game who deliberately and intentionally irritates and harasses other players within the game, by using aspects of the game in unintended ways in order to destroy something another player made or built, or stealing something, such as items or loot, when that is not the primary objective. Wikipedia Now that we're on the same page, as it stands, it is too easy for players to get away with griefing in the current state. Often, destruction will not be apparent until many ingame days after the incident occurred. For those of you unfamiliar, there is an obscure mechanic in the game called "Rollback" specifically designed to regress to an earlier day count before such destruction has occurred. In this case, burning. An in game arsonist has put fire to these crockpots and to repair them as it stands, what must be done is to destroy 4 crock pots in able to accommodate the sequence of crockpots that was consistent with the design. Call me a pessimist, but the griefer won. As it stands, these situations will very often result with the overwhelming and dominant victory of the griefer. The griefer makes an absolute fool of the people who create bases with invested time or effort, and the current system enables for the regular players to be complete and utter chumps. We are losing the war. I have a very modest suggestion: Have a structure repair kit, almost as you would for a sewing kit. With this proposed item, hover over a destroyed or damaged structure to repair it, thus not having to destroy many existing structures just to replace what was already built. Make the right choice, klei. Rejection of this idea only strengthens the very people who aim to tear your player base into tatters and makes the game into such an environment where bad behavior is rewarded with what would be loyal players, perhaps uninstalling the game and leaving a negative review. To add, this item should also be able to repair glommer's statue.
Pet Rock
I'm not sure if it would help with grieving but it would be cool if an item was added to whatever endgame Klei has in mind that can "revive" destroyed structures (think intensive carrot from plants vs. zombies). When equipped, the most recently destroyed structures in every area will appear greyed out (Wagstaff hologram themed maybe). When right clicked the target structure will be assembled out of the materials it dropped (if they are still on the floor) and/or resources in a players inventory. A construction amulet could also be used to make the construction costs cheaper. This is somewhat unrelated, but dead beefalos/other dead companions could also appear with the tool equipped at the location they died and could be revived with a telltale heart. This does not fix greifing and nothing ever will as it is easy to just hammer a base(for this reason i think they should just bring back the old bell since you can already summon deerclops now at bases using glommer), but alas this is still a good change with no harm and only good. viberr
it's a smart idea, but I would like it more if you had to repair the burned structures with a percentage of the original items needed like, you would need only 2-3 charcoal to repair a crockpot and a percentage of the other materials (idk, like one cut stone and 3 twigs) but maybe my idea also sucks! who knows?
