Modern day thoughts on Wortox (not a Wortox op thread)

I think he is kind of lacking in content, it's a bit of a shame that his entire kit revolves around teleportation and healing. I think it would be cool if he had some misc traits like built-in insulation, or getting sanity for doing stuff like throwing water balloons at people, popping balloons, dropping killer bees near other players. Maybe throw in some sort of "soul food" where you can put souls in the crock pot for a couple of funky dishes.

A change to how naughtiness interacts with him could be good, but naughtiness could also use some general tweaks as a mechanic. Like for example adding modifiers based on the character for whether something is naughty (i.e killing spiders is naughty as webber, or if they are currently friend, killing merms is naughty as wurt or if merm king is up), a huge naughtiness boost for eating a hatching tallbird egg, killing smallbirds instantly summoning krampus. I feel like there's a lot more "naughty" behaviour that could be accounted for.

I think his souls are just a bit underused, some more ways of using them outside of teleporting and replenishing stats would be nice, other than that he's not really... bad, just bland.

He's a good character who has been outclassed by Klei power creeping their refreshes and new characters, causing a character that was once really powerful to now look weak by comparison.

No. That would encourage being a nuisance to the entire server. Dropping them near mobs I would be fine with (if said mob isn't Glommer, Chester or Houndius).

I mean being a nuisance is kind of in-character, but it was only an example of a possible prank, I'm sure there would be better ideas.

I think you need to use concrete examples to validate this, otherwise you're basically just saying word fluff. Which characters specifically do you think make him look weak post-rework?

Wanda having more tools than him and being busted in combat too, for starters.

Willow and wortox have very anti-crockpot playstyles. A advantage of both these characters is to save time by not needing to build crockpots or wait on stuff to cook. Willow can chug down blue caps all day long for healing or during boss fight and use bernie to defend herself. Blue caps are plentiful and she can cook them for sanity on the go too. If you are pro you can use salt/salt box to keep them fresh forever.

Wortox can 100% eat/use only souls for both hunger and healing.

Most of the community probably are so used to making/using crockpots that they forget that they are just wasting time doing that, if they are playing or willow or wortox.

I honestly think most characters are balanced if you include different playstyles. I really enjoy and get alot more benefits that suit my playstyle by playing willow or wortox over wendy or wanda for example.

I suppose Wortox is better for new players then. For practised players, it's really not that hard to get t2 magic first season.

Feel like you misunderstood my joke what I was trying to imply with Willow was that she was considered a good rework when she released but was powercrept into being considered a lackluster one after everyone else got refreshed.

I would say he's a good character rather than a powerful character much like Walter he offers convenience.

Very well put, Wanda is completely over tuned compared to any other character and there is no point in comparing her to the rest of the crew. I love wortox design and I do believe he could be buffed to ease the numbing soul farming aspect of his gameplay loop (which is the only particular issue he has imo), since after the global teleport and 2xhop per soul buff he became an above average character overall, he has a super unique and fun mechanic that is kind of balanced with the boring soul farming cuz I guess we can't have too much fun!!
