Are you looking for a guide to making music mods?

You can't quite open .fev files. I mean, you can open them in a text editing software, but it won't do you much. If you are wondering on how you can make sounds for the game, you can follow any guide that might be available, or if you are wanting to make a music mod, you can follow the guide @Haruhi Kawaiiprovided (which I am updating very soon since I updated some assets for the tutorial/music mod.) if you want.

To my knowledge, .fev files are kinda like a template used for the .fsb file in the associated folder. They are produced after you make a project in FMOD Designer which is associated in the Don't Starve Mod Tools application on Steam. You can't quite open them or convert them, to my knowledge.

Can still open fev file through fmod_eventplayer.exe even double click to listen

Yes, dragging the .fev into fmod_eventplayer.exe does show the hierarchy and you can play it, but you'd have to recreate the whole hierarchy into a FMOD project in order to create your own project. I never thought to open it in that file since I don't usually go into the Designer folder. Might have to check out the other contents in that folder.
