The Damage of Horn Inkblight Is Overtuned.

Recommended Posts

In my opinion, the damage of the Horn Inkblight is a bit overtuned, especially when compared to the damage that the Wing and Hands inkblights deal.

Unless you are wearing the full armor sets (lunar or shadow) or do next to no mistakes, you can expect to take massive amounts of damage that is disproportionate to the rewards.

Here's a video example. I did try to kite the thing, but if you get smacked by the tentacles or eaten by it, most characters will either lose about half their hp or outright die when just wearing one of the planar armor pieces.

I mean, you are essentially wearing a football helm for a post fw boss. But I can see how it might be a bit much.

These things aren’t bosses though, they’re common every day mobs, and if there as common as the Brightshades- They’re a bit TOO Common..

This clip below is with night armor/ marble suits. The main point I was trying to get across was that without wearing the full planar set, you're either gonna take a ton of damage or as some characters, just straight up die if you don't kite perfectly.

In an actual game, it's fine that his damage is so high because the Inkblight trio are super easy to fight. They only attack in order, so if the hands guy attacks then the winged guy attacks, then the horns guy attacks, and repeat. No matter how much you attack one of them, if it's not their turn to attack, they won't attack. So singling out the horned guy to kill first means you basically can kite him with 10 seconds between his attacks and only having to dodge the much less dangerous hands and winged attacks.

Inkblight horns is fine, wings and hands could do with more overtuning to make them even remotely a threat frankly.

It's still weird that two of the three do damage compared to a werepig fart and the third is the equivelant to getting caught halfway into Celestial Champion's spin attack.

I'm aware of how to fight them. I can kill them myself.

It doesn't take away @bloopah pointed out and what I wrote, which is that 2 of them don't do crazy damage, yet the third one does.

Then the other ones should do more damage, not gimp the only threatening one.

No, the others should do less, this one is overtuned.

Or Klei could just do nothing, which is what I suspect will happen since they are busy.

Or just make their damage potential be equal aka. have them be balanced? Reduce the damage of the Horned Ink Blight to have less damaging hits that add up to a decent value while buffing the others to have damage about as high as you would recieve when getting caught by the fat blob?
