Baark0
I live next to 4 mactusk camps which has more or less stunted my base's growth due to the frequency at which walruses spawn during the winter. I'm assuming the hounds will break any walls I place to try and keep Mactusk away, so I'm kind of at a loss for what to do to get rid of them. I've considered houndius turrets but I'm currently trying placing all houndius turrets in my atrium so I can kill fuelweaver in one cycle of shadow hands, and that's looking like it might be a ways off still. My current plan is to learn if the Mactusk hounds break walls, and if they do I won't really know what do to. Was wondering if anyone knows a solution to this problem? Edit: should've mentioned I don't care if the solution is lethal or not, I don't care about the drops, I just want the walruses to not bother be during winter. Edit 2: turns out this thread was pointless, as mactusk hounds dont attack walls unless another hound does first, or if they're trying to reach the player
Shosuko
You can surround their camp with fossils or statues, then put some pig man near it. They will get aggrod by mac tusk and hounds and fight them each day.
_zwb
bunnymen would work if you use a powder cake bait to stop them going home. You could also just pen some beefalos there, works fine as well.
Captain_Rage
Make Anenemy clusters around each MacTusk camp. Free loot, et cetera.

The base is next to the walrus camps so they're constantly loaded, meaning it can wander around and walk into a corner where anenemies can't hit it. This would still work off screen but would take 3 days to kill the walruses, longer than their respawn timer of 2.5 days.
Captain_Rage
Yes, which means they will spawn and die if there are a few Anenemies in front of the camp. The hounds will die for sure. :d
GaleDKtn
Get a beefalo to each camp in spring, fence them in, and that's your problem solved, by the time winter come again the beefalo already repopulate themselves enough to take care of each mactusk camp everytime they respawn, that's what i've been doing in my megabase world
Juanasdf
I placed 4 homeless merms in my world for each tusk, surrounded by thulecite walls and a gate. The merms regen enough hp to kill them easily, and merms won't target the walls. You'll need a wurt though...
