Daniel86268
Yes and no. DST does indeed (mostly) only uses one core per shard on a server, and one thread on the client for Rendering (not sure if the client uses secondary threads for the world hosting.) However, it also depends on the hardware used, world clutter, world size, world age and (almost most importantly) mods. A somewhat modern CPU has easily enough single core performance to run DST without lag, unless you add a ton of (resource intensive) mods, or have a long term world that accumulates a crap ton of items scattered about. Making the game run on multiple cores would require pretty much a complete rewrite of the entire game, and a lot of work to think about how to split up the entire work into multiple threads. So it's nothing you could just enable by flicking a switch. It's much easier to clean up the map. For example huge amounts of bees and/or their stingers on the ground, or a big pile of items instead of sorting your stuff into chests can be the actual reason for your lag. Fornax
First of all – how much RAM do you have? How big is your SWAP partition? If you have 4 GB or less, SWAP is necessary - minimum 8GB. Also, install gamemode (on Ubuntu: sudo apt install gamemode on Manjaro sudo pacman -S gamemode) and in DST steam launch options enter: gamemoderun %command% If you're using nvidia gpu: prime-run gamemoderun %command% If you're using AMD: DRI_PRIME=1 gamemoderun %command% Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/146854-dst-lags-on-linux/#findComment-1627896 Share on other sites

Maybe you either feel that 60 fps are laggy, or some other frametime doesn't match up with the 60 fps of the game, inducing some frametime-inconsistencies, that feel much worse than 60 fps by itself?
