It used to be common for a server for be full or mostly full for all of autumn, slowly losing players throughout winter then gaining them again in spring. Now with a thousand servers they're all perpetually at like 2 players and people always disconnect when they die. Idk if it's a region thing, but it's honestly so hard to find an official EU server with good ping nowadays. There used to be around 10 to chose from with 50 ping each, now you're lucky to find 2 that are in a good enough state to be considered almost playable. Solo is the only way to enjoy the game anymore, which is very funny, if a little tragic. Sometimes complaining too much can make Klei solve the problem in unexpected, unwanted ways... gotta be careful what you wish for. Switch is in dire need of Qol fixes to online play more than any other version of the game. Hope klei focus on the switch first.
