So I don't think it's been cancelled, it's quietly going ahead. Primalflower Posted January 1, 2023 Share Posted January 1, 2023 i think the unfortunate scenario that my head wants to consider is that the western audience reception for don't starve newhome has been almost entirely deeply negative from start to finish. maybe they just decided it wasn't worth doing in the west and dropped support/plans for support. Pretty wild accusation to make without any real evidence though. maybe they'll pop back up again in due time. Their last post on social media was in June and their official website has been completely offline for about a month. The only pulse of activity I've personally seen is that the community managers (they are not developers) are still on their Discord. A community manager several months ago said that there is going to be yet another beta test and made a personal guess it would come autumn of this year. Given how it's next year, this obviously did not come true. Honestly, I've been following this game to see how, or if, this all works out in the end. It's just so surreal, but anyways I hope this helps.
