QuQuasar
A "door that dupes queue at when it's locked by automation", or if you prefer "a duplicant checkpoint that prevents atmosphere from getting through when closed". This would go a long way towards enabling compact, automation-powered mechanical airlocks without trivializing the problem. Sasza22
Basically make the dupe checkpoint and airlock door one thing or make the checkpoint not take space so it can be put behind doors. My preference would be a new 3x1 building... ... but I suspect there's a problem related to the tile of interest. Duplicants stand *on top of* the checkpoint building while they're waiting, which would result in them being entombed if the building was solid. In order for this to work, they'd need to interact with the building while standing one tile to the left or right of it, which is not something I've seen dupes do when interacting with buildings in this manner. I suspect it's a more complicated request than it appears on the surface. At the same time, though, I genuinely think it would be worth it. There's a *lot* we could do with something like this alongside a bit of automation. There's those one time handprint lock doors, if that counts.
