lakhnish
I see that there is an option in one's Klei account to link their discord to their Klei account. What purpose does this serve and why should I link the two?
Developer nome Posted September 15, 2022 Developer Share Posted September 15, 2022 Some discord/game integrations use it. For example we used it to do rewards for a modding contest at one point, and some third party services let you link yourself in discord to yourself in the game (e.g. not letting anyone join a public server unless they're also in a discord channel). Absolutely no reason to do it if you're not using one of the services that make use of it.

Excuse my curiosity, but is there some kind of an API (like that one for Family Shared accounts) one can use to get the discord user id of a game client? Not quite, it lets servers that already know a user's KU & DiscordID confirm that the two are indeed linked.
