Short distance swimming mechanic

Let the players be able to swim a few tiles in and out away from shore if not a tile away from the boat to make gathering some items easier off water.

There's a mod that lets you fetch stuff with a fishing rod.

I think a swimming mechanic if balanced well could be a great thing to have in the game

Being able to hook items out of the water with an ocean fishing rod would be great too

You know those long leg things clowns use to look like they have super long legs. Maybe we could have those but they would work only in shallow water. Or we could have a vaulting pole which would just make us jump from one place to another over shallow water if we have where to land or even better you could drown yourself if you misjudge or something. You'd have to do a sprint before using the pole. You run then use the pole and your character vaults and goes flying some distance to other side of the river or into water if you did it too early or river was too wide.
