Lux Aeterna and Sunlight

I'll try keeping this short. I'm not the most knowledgeable on lots of mechanics in-game so do correct me if I'm wrong about anything.

I was playing Wickerbottom in a world with friends, and I used Lux Aeterna Redux over our farm so we could continue gardening at night. However, one of us noticed that it seemed like the plants were growing a lot faster than normal, and said it could've been because of Lux Aeterna- he explained that plants grow faster with sunlight, or grow slower without it or something like that, and suggested that maybe it was because of the artificial light that was on them at all times.

Has anyone else had a similar experience, or can confirm it?

I can confirm, plants only grow when they are exposed to light capable of growing them. The amount the growth is sped up is greatly dependent on the length of the night.

You can also use a starcaller to grow crops.

Lux Aeterna and the Star Caller Staff let plants grow nonstop, where normally they pause their growth at night. You can also use them to grow crops underground without needing to do so in one of the light pockets.
