why Klei ambassador system was implemented?

I know im kinda late with that, but isn't it makes small or new DST streamers less likely to get more viewers as people will have no choice but ignore non-Klei ambassadors if they want to get drops? I feel like theres something more to that, but its confusing to say the least rn

The vast majority of Klei Ambassadors are Twitch streamers with less than 100 avg viewers. The program is very inclusive, if a streamer is truly dedicated to streaming Klei titles then they will likely get Ambassador. It was mainly to keep bad actors off the category on Twitch (ie. ad-farming with viewbots, embedded streams in websites, etc.) and has been very successful in that regard. But it has also provided a point of contact between content creators and developers and has been very helpful to us in receiving important information and planning our content accordingly.

I think the initial reason to implement the system was to prevent some streamers stream afk, getting viewers while doing nothing which eventually brings bad effect on the dst twitch conmunity.

i remember the most watched streamer back then was some russian guy that would put the dst tag on any stream even if he was doing non dst related stuff

klei ambassadors really do care more for streaming I personally liked it when anyone could stream to get the items. I know when it was a free for all I would actually get some good viewers during that time.
Now i hardly get as much because not an ambassador.
im building up to become one though
