How do you like the idea that Wurt had a 1-5% chance to read the book with effect (and not as usual), it would show that Wurt is learning and developing, and that classes with a librarian would not have been in vain

I mean she did learn the survivor language and presumably teaches the merm king the survivor's language so I wouldn't say they were in vain that being said idk how I'd feel about it since we know from Walter's quote Wendy has either read the end is neigh or had it read to her so assume other survivors aside from maxwell has read her books so you'd then have to ask why can't they read the books my thoughts on this is it takes a certain level of talent to pull it off which is why Maxwell can read them fully.

Wurt isn't an advanced magic user as Wicker and Maxwell. You need some kind of power to activate the book effect. 

However, I think it would be funny if Webber could accidentally trigger the effect of Overcoming Arachnophobia.

I really like this idea, it's not to be used reliably so when the effects do work it's a pleasant surprise.
