Is there something hidden behind the Moonlens?

Recommended Posts

I was taking a quick look at items that I don't usually make or use and ended up coming across the
moonlens. I know that by fitting the blue, purple and orange gems you will be able to create certain items, but
and the other gems? the red, green and yellow have some secret use when docked or are they just
merely cosmetics? will we have some dazzling new items through each of them or who knows?
even some kind of buff? or else at some point in the future we will use them all to conjure a portal
or even a cosmic lunar event?

I know there are a lot of questions and even a little hype on my part with such a technically simple item
but taking into account that several updates will have a great relationship with the lunar theme, I believe that
can have very interesting and cool new things with these "forgotten" items

I may be traveling with it all but I still wanted to see what people think about it.

Moonlens regardless of the colour have an useful marking purposes if not for the crafts, sure would be cool if more crafts would be added to them (not like there wasn't hundreds of possibilities), but you can use them to mark Wormhole pairs for example or just remind yourself that at the yellow one there is [whatever you want to remember about], I usually put that on the floor when I drop my Chester somewhere to not forgot about the position (or Moon Orb but usually I keep it on me).

The ocuvigil actually used to require a yellow moonlens, which later got changed to the purple one instead [presumably because purple gems are just easier to obtain than yellows].

I'd personally really like to see some craftables for each of the moonlenses that currently do not have one, even if they're moreso just something small like the moondial. Especially considering the purple one has two, which I find lame [though then again I find whenever a purple gem is involved in anything that it comes off as just sorta boring because to me they feel like they're just used for anything that requires generic magic and doesn't necessarily fit the other gems' themes.]
