I've created a system where I store all necessary items in the several bins near my spaceport, then enable sweeper that transports items to the belt and now I want to move these items into my tightly packed spacefarer module via Rocket Loader Port. Sadly, it doesn't work directly with Conveyor Fitting, is there any way or mod how to do that? Basically I want to automatically load rocket with necessary items without making 10+ storage bins inside spacefarer module. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Gurgel Posted June 2, 2022 Share Posted June 2, 2022 Interesting question. I think you can only to this with cargo-bays but not for the spacefarer module. So far I have two backup plans: Plan A: Learn how to mod myself and just add the input port Plan B: Land rocket, deconstruct the nosecone, construct cargo bay, load items, deconstruct cargo bay, construct nosecone My main problem is not the automatic aspect, but that I need like 10 various items and it'll be tedious to fill the rocket when I don't have space for 10 bins. Gurgel Posted June 2, 2022 Share Posted June 2, 2022 The simply do this: Prepare the material mix in the right quantities in some compactors in an area close to the rocket (can be one per material and each can be limited to less than 20t to get the material into them in the right quantities), then isolate that area together with the rocket and a dupe (or several) and have them load everything into the rocket via compactor priorities. That way all the prepared material (i.e. the same mix) goes into a smaller number of compactors in the rocket and final compactor content can be arbitrarily mixed. Basically have the dupes load all material they can reach into the rocket and make sure beforehand that they can reach exactly what you want to put in there. NeoDeusMachina Posted June 3, 2022 Share Posted June 3, 2022 You can send items inside a rocket via platform port loader and conveyor fittings -only- if you also have a cargo bay module on your rocket. There is no way around this at the moment. Then, whatever you send via the loader can be unloaded directly inside the spacefarer module by selecting a filter on the fitting or "none" if you want everything to be unloaded inside the rocket. You will have to accept the material you want loaded in by checking the box in the cargo bay menu. That also means you cannot load in food items in this way, since food cannot be stored in storage bins/cargo bays. You will have to rely on fridges inside the rocket, or orbital cargo modules (those accept food). Food will decay in the orbital cargo module unless it is deep frozen (the food temperature matters here since it will be in a vacuum). You can use that for mining rockets as well. Since the capacity of the small cargo bay is too small to use up the entire 1t of diamond you put in the mining nosecone, you can use a conveyor fitting inside the rocket and unload material (filter "none") as it is mined, then you will use all the diamond and mine more than the small cargo bay capacity.
