pether
I like the unique lifecycle of beetas, but in its current form they require player interaction to expand. As a result, final beeta ranches are in fact a series of 2x3 rooms and it look very artificial. I believe that beetiny should morph into hive based on a distance to nearest hive in addition to current one-per-room rule. Also, beetinies should be able to jump on 1-tile height to allow hive spawning on other levels than mother hive. It doesn't really change how the game plays, but would allow for more organic hive formations Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/138481-beeta-hive-reproduction/ Share on other sites
JaxckLl
Good suggestions. However I would add the following: Beetas can only form new Hives in a Carbon Dioxide environment Tiny Beetas do not consume CO2 Add a mineral that offgases CO2 when exposed to radiation Give Beeta Hives a looong lifespan, something on the order of 250 cycles When a hive is near the end of its lifespan, it can spawn a Tiny Beeta Princess, which is guaranteed to spawn a Hive regardless of environmental conditions or the presence of an existing hive The combined effect of this would be a natural ecosystem for Beetas, as well as creating an additional interesting challenge/resource in the form of that CO2-emiting mineral. babba
I hope Klei revisits the Beetas and spends a bit more time on how they function. Its currently too finicky in my opinion and lots of people will watch utube or read the forum hints on how it really works in detail.
