Please make the UI not retract automatically after packing a building, and implement the right-click quick-make

I submitted two suggestions on March 2, along with "Add Favorite Recipe Presets",

  • When players are using the overall crafting menu, they need to first left-click on one of the items, and then they can make it by left-clicking again after viewing its description and recipe forcibly. Unfortunately, elder players have a lot of experience with the recipes for these items, so twice clicks are relatively bloated for them, I suggest that you can right-click once to craft the item under the mouse directly. This is a very good experience for old players.
  •  We noticed that when the player packs a building (Consuming materials to make a building, but not placing it on the ground. It's like packing a complete building with you), the crafting menu will retract immediately. This is actually not a good thing. Many players will pack a lot of necessary buildings at one time when they go out (such as entering the cave, moon island or fishing in the sea). It auto-indents every time you are packing making the whole process very annoying. Hopefully the crafting menu doesn't retract to the left when you don't want to place a building right away and pack it on your body.

but apparently Scott didn't take my proposal.

It looks like this beta is almost final and I want to try again.

please please please please please please please make the process of packing buildings less annoying, if I'm going on a long distance trip, I'll need to pack a lot of buildings on myself. This process has to double click those buildings every time. Tthe UI will automatically retract to the left after EACH ONE of them are packed, which is a very annoying design shown in the video below.

I sincerely hope that nothing happens to the UI every time a building is packed.

Again, I'm a DST player since November 2016 and I really don't want to see those recipe description anymore, I really don't want to be forced to left click a recipe first to forcely watch its description and then left-click again to make it.

I want to right click to make those recipes I'm already very familiar with for about 6 years!!

please please please please please please please please please please please please please please consider my suggestions please

I disagree, by default the UI should retract because in the vast majority of situations you'll want to place one building or so. And packing buildings is only done once in the early game.

However, there should be a shortcut to hold the UI in place (hold shift so that UI doesn't retract) or a toggle.

Right click should be reserved for batch/auto crafting - you rightclick on rope, the character keeps making rope until it runs out of resources or it's directed to move around.

it's not true, what you said is what you did and not others. It is a thing that like some days ago you argued with others "Who can represent the gameplay of most Wolfgang players".  i dont want to debate with you about this topic

and this is not ture also. Many players did what i said every time they leave their base.

At the very least, it should become an optional item instead of telling other players: "there is something wrong in your gameplay, the right way to use the UI is just like what i said"

Vast majority of situations I make buildings is because I want to pack a lot of things and go away from base to start a new part of my megabase.

If I want to place one building I'm gonna quickly double-click the building I want and press the keybind to close crafting tab because I'd rather the game not close the crafting UI every time I prebuild something than the way it currently is.

Most people do not megabase.

I do understand the point of OP and i agree there should be a way to hold the crafting tab open, what i am saying that the default should remain close-on-craft

Okay? I wasn't arguing that. You were saying that EVERYONE plays the Crafting UI how you said, I'm arguing that I don't. Plus you can't even guarantee that the majority of people play how you do.

I'm fine with that.

Idea: When you precraft a structure it reopens the menu instead of keeping it closed.

how?  I just thought about it but fail to image how it should be implemented, can you describe it a bit more clearly?

I think this is a good idea, but how to determine the player's precraft intent could be a problem to solve

Well when you precraft something the way it usually works is you click on the recipe to craft it, the menu closes, you right click and then the structure is a precraft. What I'm proposing is the menu reopening upon performing the right click to precraft the structure.

This doesn't make any sense. The crafting menu can take up to 1/3 of your screen. Making the menu stay open while you're placing structures means that you can't place a building in up to 1/3 of your screen space. That sounds terrible.

then just make right click dual purpose; it can mass craft or keep the menu in place after you pre-craft a structure.
left click could always close menu, even after one craft and right click can also just be a 'craft one and keep menu open' until its held long enough, then it just keeps crafting with the menu open until the character moves again. now that's something i'd be a fan of.

  • Crafting Menu
    • Added the setting “Crafting Auto-Close” to enable or disable closing of the crafting menu when pre-crafting placeable structures. When the build button is labelled “Place” the crafting menu will still close regardless of the setting.
      • This can be found in the Advanced settings page.

:wilson_laugh: Is this more or less what you wanted OP?
