Hate is too strong of an emotion to characterize at least my stance regarding such issue. I do believe DST lore is pretty much botched up, full of plot-holes and inconsistencies, abandoned plot-lines and-the-like, but I don't hate it; at most am apathetic/indifferent to such travesty of the original. DSA had a clear&clean theme of chess and everything gravitated around it. Simple and neat. One could theorize a sort of continuation of said chess theme regarding multiplayer.. but: the King of Darkness was kicked off by "his" Queen who took the throne (as any chess player knows from the Chess Rules-book, eh), the One-Eyed Eldritch God-monstrosity depicted in murals is.. nowhere to be seen, its theoretical counterpart, the Moon God/Alter seems a collective of entities mostly asleep/passive, players are still pawns yet a wild Wagstaff appears on the way towards... kicking some proverbial ball down the random road, Archives and Lunar worshiping by ancients is.. something, magic strive to be forgotten, a prop like Lunar Storms - that from a meteorological/functional pov serve no purpose whatsoever.. and so on. DST is more akin to checkers with a tad bit of football in the mix for good measure (intentional hyperbole), or at the least that's how it feels to my general listlessness on the matter. Some things go out with a bang, others with a sad whimper..

I think when a new king or queen sits on the throne the theme and symbolism change to fit with that person's personality and interest I don't see Charlie saying that she likes checkers or football, but she demonstrates by her action that she like stageplay and theater.
