Cloakingsumo198 Posted February 20, 2022 Share Posted February 20, 2022 I've only been on this forum for a couple of months now, scratch that it's been some long years for that I only lurked and came here to see leaks and news with the occasional developer feedback I was happy and content with klei's development and general direction I just wanted to see more things Don't starve related. I avoided all discussions since I've never felt the need to take part of the choir but of course eventually we all feel that we ourselves have something worthy to say. Others won't always conveniently say or do what we wish to express and this time I wasn't part of the majority rules. It's easier to speak, when there are others there echoing along with you, making you feel correct. It's the opposite when there's more people telling you, you're wrong and maybe you are... Or atleast you start to think so. Not all criticism is out of malice but it still stings, you put your ideas or work out to be judged by the masses, and they dissect it, pull it apart, and let it hang again to be judged. There's even a risk of mockery and targeting, and that's taken with every post. I'm not saying it's the toughest thing to post, but it takes thick-skin to stay civil, accept differing ideas, and to take into account other's points and opinions without getting personal or mean spirited especially in the chaos of the forums. It's when Klei let's us know they are still looking out for those valid remarks among the chaos, that they can still throw down in these wild forums, and that they aren't just looking for yesmen.
