[Game Update] - Public Testing 496423

Hi friends,

A small hotfix to the Public Testing branch we wanted to get out for the weekend. We’ve fixed a number of issues with the input and building menu system changes that were causing some popular mods to break.

• Fixes
  • All versions
    • Adjustments to build menu code to preserve mod compatibility
    • Undo some changes in the input system causing issues for existing mods.
    • Fixed crash in Steam build without Big Picture enabled when selecting text inputs with the gamepad.
    • Fixed text fields not being deselected when dismissing the gamepad text input screen.
    • Fixed issue causing UI text to be cut off after a hotkey or button icon was displayed.
    • Fixed Stress and Sick Duplicants tooltip crashes if a Duplicant is removed from the game before the data is refreshed.
    • Fixed sticky left and right mouse buttons.
  • Spaced Out! only
    • Fabricator "Allow Mutant Seeds" ingredient toggle disabled until functional
    • Worldgen
      • Fixed common Marshy Asteroid, Superconductive Asteroid, and Water Asteroid worldgen failure cases.
      • Minor Regolith Asteroid improvement to include an area capable of supporting a lander.
• Known Issues
  • When using a controller the cursor can activate UI elements while holding down a button to use a drag tool (dig, cancel, deconstruct, etc.)

is there a way to trigger the gamepad controls on PC? I launched the game with big picture, but i still could only use my mouse/keyboard

There are official controller configurations published to Steam for Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 4, Steam Controller, and Steam Deck. These configurations are available on the public_testing branch and are meant to be active by default when a device is connected, but you may need to select one of them through Steam (Big Picture->Oxygen Not Included->Manage Game->Controller Configuration).

After that it should automatically switch between controller <-> mouse+keyboard whenever you press keys/buttons on the devices.

Nope!

Sounds like it`s a work in progress so maybe in the future.
