Problem with launching a rocket automated

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Im trying to do something, that actually shouldnt be so hard but yet I find myself having some troubles. I want my fully fueled for a roundtrip rocket to fly from planet A (where it is fueld) to planet B (where it is not fueled but its getting cargo there). I have a fully working automation that will give me a green signal when cargo loading is completed. The idea is to combine this green signal with an and-automation to the input of the rocket plattform but here is the bummer:

1. On planed B the rocket platform automation signal is red although there is only the "Fueled"-warning -> annyoing but no problem: i combine the signal that a rocket is landed with my cargo loading signal and Im getting a green signal when I want it to.

2. On planet B the rocket does nothing even though Im sending a green signal to the input on the rocket launcher
There is still a warning and one i cant easily get rid of: Fueled. I dont wanna fuel the rocket again on planet B. The fuel is enough for a round trip on planet A.

This shouldnt give me such a headache and Im hoping that Im just doing something really obvious wrong. Any advise maybe?

Regards,

Z

I think the rocket should launch if you give green on the “launch” input, if there are only warnings. This seems to be your case. So maybe this is a bug.

The rocket automation has evolved a lot during the early access, it’s quite possible that it still has some flaws.

Have you tried if it behaves the same after a save/load?

yes. But i havent considered it as a bug actually. I can try to do it without mods and report it if it still wont launch with a green signal and only warnings. I actually tested it on two differend rockets and different planets and it didnt work consistently.

Update: Thanks for pointing out that it might be a bug. Found an existing bug report to my issue, maybe it really is an bug. Now all i can do is wait (or find a way to fuel the damn rocket again ;) )

Last time I checked it ignores green signal if tank isn't topped regardless of having enough fuel and if cargo-loading is in progress. For example if a dupe enters the rocket, suit starts filling the suit from tank, it triggers oxygen transfer to rocket and rocket refuses to launch.

Yet it doesn't appear to care for how full the battery is even if rocket has no power sources.
