Papartichaud
Hey fellow engineers ! Here is my arrangement of a SPOM from Cryptic fox's vidéo ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gl8YxW3lTEw&t=206s ) Since i didn't want to use the mini gas pump because it uses plastic and can't pump a lot of hydrogen, i combined his setup with the classical waterlock system i use so i can insert the normal gas pump and get all the hydrogen i want from my electrolysers. Here it is : The system is quite easy to setup : 1. create the rooms for each gaz 2. put 2kg of salt water and 1kg of water after in the bottom 3. create a vaccuum in each rooms 4. pump hydrogen on the left room and oxygen on the right room 5.Build your electrolyser, your pumps (+atmo sensor for hydrogen so it doesnt pump too much) 6. Enjoy free oxygen Thanks again to Cryptic fox and every people sharing their amazing builds ! Let me know if you want to see my self sustaining oil well system ! Hokaeru
Hey ! Nice build, thanks for sharing Would you mind expanding on "6. Free oxygen" please ? You have caught my attention Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/135721-just-another-spom/#findComment-1517971 Share on other sites

You have caught my attention The setup is done at this point, so you can have oxygen without any power because the setup is self sustaining Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/135721-just-another-spom/#findComment-1517990 Share on other sites

Any amount of water below 200kg/tile works fine but try to keep the upper layer at least 10kg/tile or it will stop working eventually. It may run perfectly fine for hundreds of cycles but less than 10kg/tile upper layer will eventually fail. Always. 4 hours ago, MysticDaedra said: Says the electrolyser is submerged and won't function... It think the main issue you're having is that you probably failed to notice there's two different liquids on top of eachother. Each layer contains a limited amount of liquid. For water the limit is 200kg/tile but it's far easier to just say a bottle of each water type, be it polluted water or salt water or brine combined with regular water as the top layer, as that will give you around 100kg/tile which is perfect. WhiteWind36
I do have working electrolyzers with less than 2 kg on top tiles. Although I would recommend having very little like ~1kg of crude oil bottom and >=100 kg of salt water, water or brine top tiles. Especially if you want your electrolyzer to work in extreme conditions in pressure above 20kg/tile or with mixed gasses environment. Though didn't had a problem with electrozers having 5-8kg liquid top tile and ~100kg bottom in single gas environment. There was >21t/tile oxygen and about 2t/hydrogen. I was using water as energy source and oxygen was a waste. Though it still is... About priming and starting: I always prime only hydrogen >2kg/tile, and have successfully started electrolyzers in chlorine, carbon dioxide, natural gas or vacuum without oxygen mixing with hydrogen. Although one electrolyzer with <1kg/tile liquid on top tile fails working in mixed gas environment when gas pressure goes over 5kg/tile. It still don't mix gases, but after outputting oxygen goes max pressure until oxygen manages to push out other gases and rise up. Need testing if this would be better having more liquid in top tiles.
