Glassyfo
Is it possible to have a rocket refuel itself using it's gas cargo? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/135205-co2-ticket-refueling/ Share on other sites
MrAnimaniac
Yes. I used this to reach underdeveloped asteroids far out with my CO2 rocket. Basically you only need to connect unloader and tank. blakemw
Another option for refueling a CO2 rocket is dumping lots of CO2 into the solo spacefarer module (most simply using Canister Filler and Emptier) then later pumping it through the outlet into the CO2 engine. Have the duplicant wear an Atmo Suit or also dump some oxygen that will accumulate at the ceiling making a pocket of breathable air. Since spacefarer contents are burdenless this allows high rocket speeds. Steve8
Wood is also a good way to transport CO2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/135205-co2-ticket-refueling/#findComment-1512058 Share on other sites

Yes, but it does need to be landed though. You can also do the same for steam. Spoiler In the bottom right bedroom is the storage port, which is connected to rocket output. Excess is directed back into storage. A lot of the plumbing complexity is to reduce internal heating and pipe breakage due to stalled steam. Refuling is handled manually by seeing subtracting the amount still in the fuel tank from 150, then adding 1 (since meters have weird leakages), then resetting the meter to that amount. External plumbing: And then the much simpler CO2 design Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/135205-co2-ticket-refueling/#findComment-1512060 Share on other sites
Glassyfo
I see. I was missing a gas output fitting inside the spacefarer module. Thanks! Pedro_L
Theoretically You could carry many tons of CO2 by pumping it as a liquid inside and then heating it up back to a gas With a blob of crude oil you could store an infinite ammount of it in fact Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/135205-co2-ticket-refueling/#findComment-1512087 Share on other sites

Here you go Spoiler There is also a loader and meter involved but it would work without it as well.
