what is the next when you build the Alchemy Engine

Recommended Posts

is a survival sand box, there is no real ending. There is some objetives that you can achieve like helping pearl, beating all the bosses, make a good looking base, experience all the biomes and creatures, complete the cook book and plat registry, participate in all the seasonal events (carrat race, beauty beefalo contest, cawnival games and more), challenges like lights out or rushing things, experience other characters perks and downsides, etc

but for all the things i meantioned you will need a huuuge amount of hours just to know how to survive to every scenario unless you are impatience and spoil the game via gameplays or tutorials (i think the game is more fun if you learn by yourself but is on you, your world your rules) so prepare to die and lose worlds, this isnt the tipical adventure game where you can experience all the game in one save file at the first try

with 14 hours dont be anxious to beat the game. I would recommend to check all the new recipes avaraible so you learn which materials do you need to survive and try crafting stuff to learn their uses

next step would be crafting a prestihatitator, you can find it in the magic tab (red skull) and upgrade to shadow manipulator. After that, and already knowing how to survive all the seasons, the next step would be the caves and bosses and/or building stuff for aestetics or automation (if you like that kind of stuff)

overall, just enjoy the experience. The goal of the game is to survive in a way you enjoy

DST doesn't have real ending or a goal. That said... generally people consider beating Ancient Fuelweaver as the end goal.

After you make alchemy engine, your next objective can be for example:

  • Exploring the whole land
  • Exploring the seas and find Lunar island - it has a lot of good loot
  • Making Prestihatitator and Shadow Manipulator (for beginners it's good especially for reviving items)
  • Exploring the caves, finding the ruins - be careful, you're probably going to die there a lot before you learn to survive in there

But your next objective doesn't have to be neccessary your next action. Before you go to the ruins or to the sea, you should:

  • Be prepared for winter
  • Have your hunger and sanity situation under control
  • And have a base (A tent for healing and sanity, some storage room for loot, some traps nearby for the hound waves, a kitchen with bunch of crockpots and ice boxes, bee boxes, drying racks, etc...)

A sandbox game has no objective, it has no ending do what you want when you want however you want to go about doing it.

Now in the FUTURE Klei may add a Story Mode like Adventures from single player but for now… it’s just a mostly pointless Sandbox- there’s No “End-Game” because things never get any harder (and after you’ve mastered the 4 weather seasons) you can survive just fine on day 10,001 as you did on Day 1 without needing to do anything special at all

After you build alchemy engine you build the prestihatitator and then the shadow manipulator these open up higher tier crafts- But again none of them are really required to survive Day 1 or Day 10,001
