How expand sandstorm?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I would like to ask for help for a problem I have, I am creating a sandbox world (dedicated server) and I am expanding the oasis by removing water squares by desert but when the sandstorm is activated it does not expand to the new area. In short I would like to know a handy command, mod or trick to expand the storm.

I DONT intend to remove the wildfire.

You are using a mod to alter the terrain, but you draw the line at using the actual settings menu to disable wildfires?

Oh, and to answer the question, I don't think expanding the sandstorm is possible, it's tied to the biome, not the ground/turf.

Yeah sadly, it seems zones like the sandstorm, lunar island, ruins, etc are all hardcoded into the map, It'd be so nice if it were possible to expand these zones with mods as it would make custom map creation alot better IMO.

yes, I'm using a terraforming mod "Simple Map Editor". If you know of another similar one, please tell me its name.

If the effect is linked to the biome as you say there should be a way to reassign the value of a biome to cause this effect, even this could be used to create effects like the moon island. After all if the feature exists clearly it can be achieved, now I don't know if this parameter is exclusive for developers, in that case I would appeal to the good will of the developers to create a command for this purpose, as long as they allow it. The ideal would be a tool to generate worlds from scratch, but this is already asking too much.

I'm a big fan of editing maps and servers a lot, in my old world I created several worlds and connected them together:

overworld -> cave  -> cave2
                -> winter world
                -> summer world
                -> spring world
                -> shipwrecked
                -> hamlet

It was 5000 days of a lot of fun. curiously i could leave 3 worlds with only 1 climate and the others with the 4 climates but i could never leave hamlet with only 3 seasons to simulate its climate well.

Just spawn another oasis biome and connect them. Idk if that's possible

While it's possible to spawn in an oasis lake, it won't spawn a sandstorm with it as it's not connected to the sandstorm like that.

Pretty sure the sandstorm is just a hardcoded zone placed during worldgen, imagine if it were possible to place these zones with mods, having custom lunar areas with enightenment, or custom ruins areas, or custom oasis deserts.

If someone figures out how to make a mod that allows placing of those zones let me know!
