GelatinousCube Posted April 21, 2021 Share Posted April 21, 2021 Hi all, console player here requesting information/help in regards to the new content - the Moonstorm and Lunar Champion. I have everything set up and ready to go to summon the mysterious energy. I have seen how if the moon storm is over your base and you load that area it can devastate animal pens and decorative areas along with killing any mobs you may have penned/stored in your base. I want to get the moonstorm over as fast as possible without risking my base being damaged in the process. You need to move with the storm several times in order to get enough resources to actually build and fight the boss correct? If it spawns in your base you can just wait (how long before it moves again?) in another far away area until it moves to avoid any damage correct? What resources (other than the obvious like food, fuel etc) should I have with me to combat/overcome the storm assuming I cannot restock at my base to avoid it potentially being damaged? A bunch of moon glass and potatos so I can keep making the new goggles I guess but is there anything else I should be carrying? Are the birds in the moonstorm event easy to overcome? Should I bring a bunch of armor/weapons to deal with them? Do I even really need armor (playing as Wig so minor damage can be remedied with life leech, jellybeans etc). or do I just need weapons and some healing? As far as the boss is concerned I actually moved where he will spawn as the original spot I had it set up was right near my lunar base and boy is the new boss destructive.. I've cleared a fair bit of room for the fight but I am still worried about destruction after watching a few twitch streamers fight him. If I tank a little bit more and don't kite during the whole fight can I limit his mobility/how large the area of destruction is? I figure if I stay nice and close he won't be as mobile and therefore won't cause anywhere near as much destruction.. Any advice or tips are very welcome. Cheers! lakhnish Posted April 21, 2021 Share Posted April 21, 2021 Kill BQ. You are going to need bundling wraps for the 30 charged moonglass due to the very fast spoilage time (unless they change that). Also bring a bugnet. You need to catch 10 Moon sparks. You don't need bundles for this one since the moon sparks last a while. You can deal with the birds with just a walking cane but bring a piece of body armor (or two) since they deal a suprising amount of damage without it. You don't necessarilly need Astral Goggles since Desert Goggles also work too if you already have them, but having some extra hats or a sewing kit doesn't hurt. You're gonna have to do the Moonstorm event 3 times for 3 of the contained static things, so plan accordingly. As for the boss, don't tank it, at least for 2nd phase, cause that's a death sentence. You probably need like a 15x15 space total because of how much it moves around? At least to keep your base safe. Get a walking cane, a magi, some healing food (and a way to lower your sanity), and some good armor. You'd need like 6-7 Dark Swords worth of damage. Phase 1 is rather straightforward to kite. Phase 2 you switch to magi to kite more easily (watch out for getting trapped) but its the most dangerous phase atm. Phase 3 is pretty straightforward atm too (just run out of the circle when it does it gestalt attack and you're fine). This is contigent on the fight stayong the same as is though. Thanks for the tips! I farm BQ regularly so I got plenty of wraps and I generally carry around a stack so should be sweet for the charged moonglass. Didn't realise I needed a bugnet for one resource so I'll make sure I make and bring a few with me. Might even just carry a stack of silk instead. Interesting, not sure whether to go astrogoggles or just bring desert ones... can you use sewing kit on the astro goggles? The entire event 3 times? No, just once but in three different spots on the map where Wagstaff finds the objects right? Sorry just want to confirm. 15 by 15 tiles?! Thats a HUGE area... With a **** ton of Thul Crowns and garlic foods tanking would still be a death sentence? Thanks for the tips on the fight itself! Yeah, essentially this. The moon storm moves after completing the quest, so you nedled to go to wherever the storm is 3 times. And yeah, you can use sewing kits on the new hat.
