Unfawkable Posted April 3, 2021 Share Posted April 3, 2021 As someone who prefers realism where it's viable, I've never used waterlocks as I dislike them as a solution, so I never used Visco-Gel either. And even when you do use water locks, I find it underwhelming in comparison to the other 3 Molecular Forge super-materials. I'd like to see it's use broadened for more things, as a fuel source for something, or a building requirement for a lategame building/suit/item. Don't have a specific idea on it yet though, but though I'd get some opinions on what more Visco-Gel could do in Spaced Out. I dislike waterlocks as well, but I find Visco-Gel makes sense in its usage as one. It's like a giant blob of stiff gel you can close off areas with to prevent gas exchange. I wish dupes didn't get Sopping Wet from it, though. RonEmpire Posted April 3, 2021 Share Posted April 3, 2021 To avoid Soppy wetness build it so the visco-gel has a height of 3. and the platform between them is height of 2. this will allow your dupe to jump over the visco-gel and not get sopping wet. I'd still like another use for them though. As for sopping wet, you can probably just set them up after your atmo suit checkpoints so they are suited before going through. I'm hoping it's something well tuned for the current rate at which you get resin - I've found it annoying to try to get a decent amount of insulation so the isoresin I do get is exclusively used for Visco-Gel. It would be like the the entrance to the Gungan city in SW. But a different application could work as well, maybe a super filter or a vent with infinite pressure. Just an utility building like that.
