Making walls that flying creatures can't go over.

Hello, I was thinking about making walls that flying things can't fly over.
Does anyone know how I could do this or have any suggestions on what I could do?

Fly mobs look first for a way to pass where theres no wall, if theres not, they fly over the wall.

I didn't know that.

So if I trapped a bat in walls would it be possible to make a new type of wall they can't fly over?

Currently there's no wall that would block the bats.

Like DonCubone there stated they do try to path first and if there's a path they try to follow it.

I used this to make butterfly traps a while ago:

Now, they do collide with creatures.

So if you can trap creatures in a barrier around the hole using walls that the bats won't attack, then you could trap them.

I don't know of any creature that won't attack the bats or the bats won't attack, so I don't think that's useful information.

 

I find the best solution for bats is to have some bunnymen houses around the holes.

That's a very intresting set up. Never seen that before.

So this means I could make a wall that's scary to prey so the butterflies get stuck.

But I'm not sure this would stop all flying creatures, only flying prey or regular prey.
