Diffusion glass tile. Light beams!

Recommended Posts

Breaks up the sunlight hitting it into a diffuse, broad light for agricultural purposes.

Could be used for redirecting light also.

Light is somewhat hard core at the surface, it comes in straight down like a laser at 70k lux and doesnt light anything up but a single floor tile when allowed to pass through a single glass tile.

A prism tile basically. That sounds cool. Could work as a light source similar to ceiling lights but the intensity based on the light coming form above. If balanced properly it could effectively increase the size of the surface you can use for light purposes.

exactly - if it diffuses in a pattern similar to the common light bub it would be nice - also,it might be nice to have a half tile dome that has an even wider diffusion angle.

Also, I like that the sunlight comes in like it does, it's a bit silly, but such an arrangement might be possible that we could get cheesy movie style mirrors to beam light around the base at right angles and such - maybe have this lose a bit of intensity for each tile it passes through.

Light pipes, fiber optics - all worthy thoughts of modding. I suppose wanting something a bit less repetitive than light bulbs everywhere is the idea.

Big ole bump here...

Now that we have radiation, direct natural light also comes bearing radiation.

And also, we have these wonderful directional beam buildings that can direct HEP in any direction we like.

How about something similar for light?!

I was actually thinking of something like a luminophore (is that how you spell that), so basically something that absorbs radiation and changes it to light. Some RL lights work like that but it`s actually using X-rays not charged particles. I imagine widows made out of that so they would produce extra light and block some radiation. Used for spae widows they would block some natural light but create more out of space radiation. This way they would make sunlight safe for dupes at all times.

Cherenkov radiation. So pretty!

But Radioluminescence is more useful and less dangerous.

For instance, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radioluminescence#:~:text=Radioluminescence is the phenomenon by,beta particles%2C or gamma rays.&text=Radioluminescence is also sometimes seen,as nuclear reactors and radioisotopes.

Nuclear lighting!
