About farming, eating, food and hunger system(Reap What You Sow.)

New farming is a bit more complex, Fruit Flies are extremely annoying. Making a pig farm or bunny farm is just better, easier, and gives more loot. This make me think, if KLEI really hate easy farming and want player suffer by farming, why dont we have a small reworked food and hunger system? Also this can make player dont stick to same food anymore. 

A nutrition system that makes player HAVE to farm and eat fruit and vegetable.

Satiety

  1. All the food will give Satiety,
  2. Satiety 0% will drains Sanity per min.
  3. Satiety over 90% will give a little sanity regen.
  4. Satiety over 100%, eat food will consume A lot Sanity and a bit health.
  5. Satiety 120%, eat food will explode and die.

Carbohydrates

  1. provided by potato, sugar..etc. 
  2. Different character have different max carbohydrates.
  3. Characters with Larger max carbohydrates normally drains more energy per min. 
  4. Walking, working and attacking is more efficient when player have carbohydrates.

Fats:

  1. Provided by Meat, butter and seeds..etc. 
  2. Fats has no upper limit, but after 150 Fats , per 50 fats will -10% speed, work speed, attack speed and recieve 10% more damage. 

 

Player consume a steady 10 Energy per min. Carbohydrate works like 95% armor. If player have carbohydrate then its 9.5 carbohydrate and 0.5 fat per min. If player dont have carbohydrate then they consume 10 fat per min. 

Player consume extra enengy while walking, working and attacking. 

Health will begin to darin when Fats is emptied.

Protein 

  • Provided by meats, dairys, fish, eggs.. etc.
  • Meat give a lot Protein but it may make player have too much fats.
  • Protein drains at 0.5 points per minute
  • Protein can give a +1(per 2 min) health regen by drains a extra 0.5 per min
  • 0% protein will make player -30% all speed,  Health will begin to darin

Vitamin

  1. Vitamin A: fruits, leafy vegetables, carrots, pumpkin, Fish and dairy.. etc. 0% will make player blind in low light. 
  2. Vitamin B: Meat, fish, vegetables, bananas.. etc. 0%   randomly do reverse movement, -20% all speed.
  3. Vitamin C: vegentables and fruit.. etc. 0%: Sanity darins and health drains
  4. Vitamin D: fish and mushroom.. etc. 0%: -50% walk speed.
  5. Vitamin K: Leafy green vegetables.. etc. 0%:Bleeding diathesis, drain health really quick.
  6.  

Any Vitamin reach 0% will make player have a extra-10% all speed. Health will begin to darin a bit, stackable.

Crock Pot recipes will have all the nutrition based its Ingredients. (meetball with carrot or berry has different nutrition), this can also make Wigfrid easily fit the new system. By different cooking style, some food should lost a bit its nutrition(Salad>grill).

And Crock Pot recipes always have lower Satiety then their Ingredients, which means crock pot recipes can provide more nutrition per Satiety but waste some nutrition compare to eat ingredients directly.

 

To make every fruit and plant useful, they can not be just put there like now, they need to have different stats make them important. Otherwise why they are here, for fun?

Fruit Flies are so great - that's how you get a friendly fly that auto-tends your crops! Pigs and rabbits - you have to fight those, so I'd say putting down some water and digging up weeds occasionally is a lot easier. It's currently pretty time-consuming for the amount of food unless you focus on giant crops, or just plant plain seeds as Wormwood. But it's definitely easier than fighting a bunch of mobs, or setting up walls and other things, to have them fight other creatures (and not get all the meat eaten before you get to it).

That one friendly fly totally cannot overwhelming the trouble caused by the lord of flies, also leaving crop in farmland would let them rot. And seeds do spoil. 

Fighting? there is no "fighting a bunch of mobs". We have easy gloober farm can give you infinity meetball and turkey dinner and jerky. 

And about setting up walls easily beat farming. All you do is just lead the first winter boss to rock biome, let him do the work, then build a semi auto pigman farm with ice flingomatic(which you always gonna need it for summer). or use woods to build a full moon version, which is way more cheaper. And only need a bit fighting.

Its even more easier for bunnyman, you dont even have to fight or making walls. you can just make a bunnyman war, and leave with a bunch meat and carrots.(bunnyman dont eat meat in case you dont know)

All these method are more steady, cost-effective and easier. They also drop other valueable resources, pig skins can make op ham bat can football helmet. Bunny puff can give you a lot gold to make golden tools. 

Compare to farming, which also requires time, fighting lord of flies, but only gives some mediocre food. Its just not worth. Old farm is the most steady one, thats what made farming worth.

Currently most player only cook a few "good" recipes. This makes all other food useless. Its quite clear the when Klei make all these food and recipes, they only consirded about "fun" but not balance.
