sirnumbskull Posted December 9, 2020 Share Posted December 9, 2020 I'm hoping that for the release version we can have an indicator, sort of like you'd see on the auto sweeper/miner, that lets us know where the telescope needs to "see" in order to be considered to have line of sight. Currently it's a bit of a wild guessing game, and it's not even entirely clear if the scope needs to be IN space, or just have a straight line TO space..? Steve8 Posted December 9, 2020 Share Posted December 9, 2020 It seems that you do need space exposure and that LOS isn't strictly necessary. It works even through solid tiles. Which is a bit silly. shashe Posted December 11, 2020 Share Posted December 11, 2020 Yes room for improvement, but my design so far is just a surface telescope with a solid tile placed 3 tiles above the rightmost bottom tile to block the sun and prevent sunburn. oxygen is optional. by the time the sky is "fully explored," this build doesn't seem to have any problems. much simpler than the base game IMO Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
