Potted plants

Recommended Posts

This is basically an expansion of several pot structures we already have such as potted ferns and succulents and tree planters from Winter's feast event to most replantables present in the game. Mainly oriented on having plants on boat and base decoration.

3 new types of pots are added into farming tab, made from broken shells and manure.

Small pots can host foliage, succulents, flowers or evil flowers (if haunted) planted into them. 0.75 spacing (same as DEPLOYSPACING.LESS). Craft cost - 1 broken shell, 1 manure.
Medium pots can host grass tufts, saplings and spiky bushes. 1.0 spacing (same as DEPLOYSPACING.MEDIUM). Craft cost - 2 broken shells, 2 manure.
Large pots can host trees and bushes (berry & stone fruit). 2.0 spacing (same as DEPLOYSPACING.LARGE). Craft cost - 3 broken shells, 3 manure.

Pots have both inventory and structure version. Crafting gives inventory version which does not stack and can be deployed. Once deployed, plants can be planted into the pot of corresponding size. Both empty and occupied pots can be "picked" (similarly to dismantling) to go back into player's inventory for relocation.

Potted plants retain most of the unpotted plant features, such as need for periodic fertilization, growth stages, mob spawning (butterflies for flowers), sanity auras (evil flowers). However, potted berry bushes can’t spawn gobblers and potted grass tufts can’t turn into gekkos. Occupied pot doesn’t have its own collision box and instead inherits one from its plant. Optional: potted plants don't get diseased - decoration-oriented feature.

Pots can be hammered for half of resources spent to craft them and dug version of the plant. Optional: pots that have been dropped from the inventory instead of being deployed get “hammered”

Potted plants can be removed from the pot with the shovel (except for trees which have to be chopped down first). This includes flowers to prevent accidental picking.

Potted trees stay at their maximum growth stage once fully grown (copied from festive tree planters).

Optional: Festive tree planter, potted fern and potted succulent crafting recipes are removed, but those which have already been crafted stay.
